I think it's an indication of the size of the country you inhabit. My sister lives in the US and thinks nothing of driving 7-8 hours and I have a Dutch friend who thinks driving somewhere over an hour away is a major mission.

They likely do have a CFO. I bet a LinkedIn search would reveal our answer. At minimum they have a fractional CFO or a "VP of Finance" filling those shoes. To be fair to this person, they might be an amazing, pragmatic, disciplined, process oriented person who really did have the insights to guide the company appropriately during this time. The reality is, if the CEO (or board) doesn't want to listen, it doesn't matter how right this person is. The buck usually stops with the CEO (or if it goes to the board, Chairman/a vote).

Question for the collective: How well-known are the frame manufacturing companies in Asia? Is it relatively easy to link a manufacturing company to a specific frame brand, or is the process more opaque? I’d love to map this out if possible. Here’s an analogy from semiconductors to explain what I’m asking: Nvidia designs, engineers, and sells GPUs TSMC manufactures Nvidia’s chips ASML provides the machinery TSMC uses to produce those chips To be clear, I'm not concerned about who makes the tooling for bike frame manufacturers (e.g., the mill), but I’m curious if there are key suppliers to these frame...

Here is the "Tallest Boy" I built a few years back. TB4 with cascade link, 7.5 x 2.0 coil shock, and 150mm fork. Geo is basically the same as the current HT3 but with a more progressive leverage curve and less extreme reach/stack. Rear travel is around 147mm. It is a ripper, so good with the coil shock!

I have so many ideas and thoughts about this. But I believe enduro is a great format, just not for World Cup broadcasting: But isn’t that how moto enduro started too. Before they had redbull helicopters, these dudes were just out riding until their arms fell off. I like the format. It’s inclusive, it’s adaptable and it’s simply hard as hell to make tv out of it. You know what ews did well tho? It generated so much content for the brands and riders. I don’t see any reason a few enduro series geo located by terrain and seasons couldn’t...

Its an awesome racing format. It'll never die but it certainly may become more grass roots that it has been for the last 5 years or so. I freakin love the format when the stages are long as hell and the days are massive and its several days in a row.

I agree. And for many of those reasons, I thought it made the most sense to make GT the D2C MTB brand of the PON portfolio – an "American YT" if you will. It was very surprising to me when they went literally the opposite direction in 2022. Not trying to "Monday morning quarterback" the situation, it just seemed the decision was antithetical to the direction this, like many, industries was/is going (disintermediation).

Unlikely that the final hit is what killed the wheel. The week in Whistler or some of the riding is Socal likely caused the issue and the hit in PC caused the final failure. BTW great review and thank you for showing the failure. Everything breaks (especially under Mikey) so real world experience is important.

Speeds may be higher on modern bikes, but I believe they are quite a but safer than the bikes of the 90's with their super short frames and super long stems that seem well optimized for OTB crashes. Make no mistake about it though, we were hauling serious ass on our ridiculous bikes in the 90's too. My Cateye computer...

I am not surprised the power sports segment is down right now. Nor am I surprised that the mtb market is down either. I live in SW CO in an outdoor rec mecca. All summer and a lot of winter it is a parade of very expensive late model pickups with expensive trailers and expensive "powersports" toys on the trailers...
