regarding yeti, the current switch infinity bikes use standard bearings. but looking forward to the sixfinity bikes, since the ebikes got raving reviews. after upgrading from a sb150 to a sb160 i swore that i would ride it till eternity… but if done right i might give in on them, if they don‘t raise the prices even more from the sb160 😅

1. Oak components, high quality in fancy colors. 2. Biking more than last year. 3. Unlocking new jumps in my local trails, still some to go! 4. Finale Ligure and Sud Tyrol bike trips. 5. Coil shocks! 6. Anything from HopeTech.

I put one on all of my enduro bikes. Anyone that I've ever met that used one has been a huge advocate. When asked about difference making products in regards to improving my experience it is one of the very few things that I recommend without any caveats. I thought it was a gimmick and was given my first one as a gift. I've now bought several additional ones, both as gifts for additional bikes. Great product but I'm interested to see how the new version is better. I actually prefer the two position setting on the ones I have...

I miss my old Yeti 5.5. 140/160 and weighed 29lbs with a coil shock (XL). Bring back 30lb all-mountain bikes!

Will echo what DontWorryImAPilot said. The SI linkages gets all this internet trash talk. I have a SB160 that requires far less maintenance than my 2 prior Forbidden's did for reference. I appreciate that the SI is a contained system that can be easily replaced and I have 100% confidence that my shop would get me a warranty replacement if anything went array. That said, my 160 is 2yrs old and the SI has no objective signs of wear. It's my favorite bike of all time.. I would be much more skeptical that the 6bar wouldn't need a full rebuild...

Just a quick note about the SB120's Switch Infinity lube maintenance: It's a 20 minute job from standing inside my house and realizing it needs to be done to finishing up and putting the torque wrench away. That hasn't felt like too big of a timesuck every 100 hours. Plus, the bike feels sick. The Sixfinity looks to be super interesting, too. I wonder if it'll make its way to the rest of the bikes. A lot of people around the ol' internet have said things hinting at some crazy amount of maintenance required for the Switch Infinity. I haven't...

1. Riding more frequently, even if it meant inside and seeing the positive benefits 2. Vittoria Mazzas. Just a very solid trail tire for New England(thanks Justin). 1. No Strava. I toyed with it last year but I didn’t do a single Strava ride this year. Never liked bikes more and never rode better. 2. Shuttling. Rode for years with a crew that didn’t like shuttling but a friend dragged me into it just this fall and DAMN DO I LOVE DRIVING BIKES UP HILLS. I love getting dropped off but I also love driving my friends!!! 3. DT rim. I don’t even know which one maybe the ex471 but whatever the case WOW this thing saved my bike career. I can’t afford carbon hoops right now...

tech rumors forum update - you've spoken and have been heard we'll lock out this thread at the end of the year (no matter what, it's just too darn big now), and will carry on with yearly tech rumors threads that will be stickied for easy participation. the 2026 thread is already underway here (not yet stickied) i just want to thank everyone for their feedback and insight on what this piece of the vital community means.

Super good question. The honest answer is: it depends, but we can frame it pretty cleanly. Private equity is generally not structured to “swing and miss” the way venture is. In a traditional buyout strategy, you’re underwriting to avoid permanent capital loss, even if you’re using leverage. That said, bankruptcies do happen. Depending on the dataset, the strategy (mega buyout vs middle market vs distressed), the industry mix, and the time period you measure, you’ll see something like mid single digits up to the teens as a reasonable range for bankruptcy outcomes across portfolios.
