8/20/2026 11:39am My step daughter (or...will be step daughter in 2 months) is 45 pounds. Her bike is at least 25 pounds. She tries SO hard to get up relatively small hills, and is a total trooper for doing it. But it'd be 1000% more fun for everyone if she had a tiny bit of assistance, like just enough to make her bike that is over 50% her body weight feel more like its 20% her body weight. In this case I'm not sure it'd actually work, being the motor+battery would add weight to the point she might be scared of the...

7/17/2026 5:20pm It will definitely help riders get closer to setup. That will be great but it will still be different than fork/shock data.

7/15/2026 9:29pm Time for a project update! A lot has been going on. First, the hardware has evolved. I've done a major redesign to make the logger more robust and easier to build. It now supports up to 8 analog channels, plus digital on I2C and a UART connector for external GPS. The firmware has moved a long way too. It now supports AS5600 and AS5048 rotary encoders and DAN-F10N GPS modules (these are available from Sparkfun on a breakout board and work really well). There is now an option to write log files in a compact binary format, which reduces file...

7/6/2026 2:28pm I think you still find a world cup level guys who bolt it on at a race, think the numbers are way off and start changing things right away....thats the type of team Jordi is talking about, as they will likely be asking him for certain change based totally on the data instead of anything the rider is asking for - thats the big mistake. The tools are still really good and useful to have, as long as teams don't let it dominate the decisions. It's fine if people come up with the own interpretations but it puts people like...

7/6/2026 9:31am My $0.02 on Jordi and DAQ... He's clearly not an idiot, but neither are the teams running DAQ at world cup level. Most likely, they're both right. Jordi sits in the Fox stand and deals with whatever walks through the door, under enormous time pressure. There's probably 3/5 of 5/8 he doesn't know about how Fox product behaves, both through his own honed intuition and through dyno data. Having people bring their own interpretations probably does get in the way of him doing his thing. Even if you loved DAQ, you might think it belonged in the off season and...

7/3/2026 9:01am Interesting take here from Jordy https://youtu.be/mnl9xQJF9ok?is=Aa7TLQLWLpn97NtU Seems like the Suspension Engineers don't like the teams using DAQ that much. I also noticed this... In the videos from last years worldcup you saw maybe 30% of the teams using DAQ system and this year you see pretty much 100% of them running the BYB DAQ. I feel like DAQ is almost more useable for "normal" riders that haven't the experience of a racer that know what "suspension feel" they're chasing. For example I don't know what my bike feels like at its best possible setup. For the longest time I thought...

6/30/2026 11:56pm I have been seeing the request for leverage curves for offset-mounted linear sensors come up quite a bit more in the last 12 months. If you don't want to calculate this manually I finally got around to actually surfacing this functionality in the UI. The basic process is: - measure your sensor eye to eye length at full extension (or what you want full extension to be, recommended to have a little buffer) - enter the stroke (only required for the visualization) - drag or enter the position points. For convenience the length is fixed and you can just move...

5/2/2026 3:54pm I love the DIWhy vibes from the last few pages 😍 I have been working a lot on the App and the Firmware for the mast month or so. I have made a lot of progress into packaging it into end to end usable, both on desktop and mobile. Major changes Live data! Now you can stream the sensor readings from a connected DAQ in more or less real time (20-30ms delay). You can set the time on the DAQ and you can edit and replace the configuration, without dealing with memory cards and text files! You can also change...

2/4/2026 7:25am I'm overdue to write that Telum review, but in short it's phenomenal. If the damper is anywhere near as good as the shock, it will be unreal. I couldn't believe how much better my fork felt with the MRP Lift damper, so I'm totally down for a Vorsprung fork damper.

12/28/2025 11:15am I put one on all of my enduro bikes. Anyone that I've ever met that used one has been a huge advocate. When asked about difference making products in regards to improving my experience it is one of the very few things that I recommend without any caveats. I thought it was a gimmick and was given my first one...

12/28/2025 11:11am I put a switchgrade on all of my bikes. My climbs are fire roads and then straight down descents. I use 240 droppers and this usually. I can tolerate 210 with one of these on hikes with bad insertion. I’m in the desert for a few months and I’ve changed it to be flat, tilted for dh, and tilted for lots of dh. It’s not for everyone and every trail, but I’ve never regretted the purchase and find it useful nearly everywhere

12/28/2025 11:11am It's very useful if you ride steep both up and down. More efficient uphill position so you don't have to fight to not slip back on the saddle. On the way down it provides extra clearance so it's like having a longer dropper.

12/17/2025 9:42pm @jeff.brines the Sam Nichols podcast was absolutely awesome. Really great insight to not only the situation YT was in, but also how bike oems handle their business, as well as an anecdotal case study of how PE/VC actually happens. It's nice being able to digest that paradigm with a case study that is relevant to my interests... makes what is otherwise a pretty dry subject if you're not in the thick of it and makes it palatable. Thanks Jeff, great work!

12/5/2025 11:17pm I hear you, understanding consumer precarity matters, and I agree that headline metrics like GDP don’t capture the lived reality for many households. Consumers absolutely can’t participate in discretionary categories like cycling if they feel unstable. Where I diverge a bit is in the framing of “overwhelming suffering and lack of opportunities.” I don’t want to minimize anyone’s challenges, consumer stress is real, and unevenly distributed, but relative to almost any point in history, opportunity, access, and quality of life are still comparatively high. That context matters. If we overcorrect the narrative, we risk drawing conclusions or building models that...

11/26/2025 2:22pm You're very entitled to your own opinion, but I didn't hear the same contradictions you did. I've re-listened multiple times this morning and I still can't hear it the way you have. I heard Markus say they knew they were facing tough times but weren't expecting the PE firm to get to a point where they aren't willing to inject cash. The Fire Sale was an effort to get through that specific period without having to ask for more cash. That failed and then they were told 'no more'. As for your previous point, it's not exactly clear to me...
