Yeah, I didn't look it up but I can just tell you what it was like on the ground and also what it was like getting a ticket. If that's correct number wise (and I have no reason to doubt that it is) then Elancourt Hill was not even close to full. Kinda makes sense as the XC tickets were...

You may be correct, especially in Germany, but I've played a ton of golf in all three of those countries. France and Italy both have very strong golf cultures and some of the top courses in the world. I have spent a lot of my career working in Europe and met almost no one who would consider MTB a hobby...

Cheers Geoff. I used the contact form on the website three times and can give you my email if you want to troubleshoot. Had I seen your username here I would have tried that. Again, I wasn't mad or insulted. Figured you just weren't interested in selling to general consumers at this time which happens at a surprising (to me)...

I've now sent them multiple inquiries with no response so my guess is that the answer is no. Always fascinating to me when a company has no interest in taking my money. I get it if they think that the pro circuit will be enough to make them successful but that isn't so, eh, ok. Nothing against them though and...

Hit them up, I don’t see why they wouldn’t sell one. Contact info is on their website.

Can an average consumer buy SynBike? It is not clear to me as to how when I've looked at it. I'm happy with my BYB system and I also have an original MI kit but it wouldn't stop me from trying SynBike if I could figure out how to buy one without being a shop on or on a team.

I'll also add, there's so much dogma in the bike industry, you can't do X because it has such bad Y...etc. We're not totally impervious to this thinking, but with this project we made it a point to actually test these assertions and sort fact from fiction. An example, from the start I felt we had to do a 20mm axle because everyone says so, it was Darren that commented how much it sucks to get a new fork and then realize your wheel doesn't work with it. So we tested and found the diameter has much less influence compared...

I am in the engineering department at Push, and we're all big fans of the Vital community! - Matt I guess I should prefaced that manufacturing comment, before I get the "my buddy owns a casting shop and ..." 😂 So for starters there aren't many magnesium casting suppliers in the US (probably because of safety issues 🔥) but funny enough there is one just down the street from us. The problem with most US manufacturers is size, difficulty, volume, and capacity all have to align before they are interested in any new work. In my experience this is fundamentally...

I run global technology programs and have 3 kids and a wife that has a more intense job than I do but I just make it a priority to ride nearly every day and rarely ride the same bike two days in a row. It does help that I can be on a trail in less than 3 min from...

Couldnt agree more. I could only afford 1 and was trying to decide between the 2. And im a sucker for limited so when i saw only 100 of the enduro being made i ordered that and then got the limited edition worlds o chain. Plus the more grass roots look of the frameworks is kinda cool with a gold 38

Not sure that I got any real deals but, for me, I have bought seven new bikes this year. Not all of them have arrived yet. I've also bought a Liv e-mtb for my wife and a couple of bikes for my boys (almost 2 years old and 6 years old). In looking at my history though, this is pretty...

The point of data acquisition systems like MI (RIP) & BYB is not to be prescriptive, it's to give you data figures that you can correlate with a ride feeling. The more testing a rider does with the system, the more they can start to know what number ranges work for them in certain conditions. Both those systems will give you some starting point ideas for some key metrics (i.e. front / rear dynamic sag, rebound speeds, etc.) but they're just a starting point. On top of that, they help give riders a better understanding of what specific changes will...

@Snfoilhat - I don't really understand what you're trying to say. First, I think it is accepted that there is a degree of error in most of these systems. Mounts flex. Electronics do their thing. There's going to be a degree of error. On your other point. Are you wanting these systems to tell you how to tune your bike? I don't think that is what they are trying to do at all. Read through the Motion Instruments manual and there is a lot of advice on what the data means, and what you might do to tune your bike...

So, you're really concerned about ~0.5lbs on bikes that average around 37lbs (assuming enduro bikes)? I'm struggling to come to terms with that mattering much. Heck, I'm struggling to come to terms with how much that would matter on my XC bike that weights 24lbs. I understand that it is at a specific spot but real world usage doesn't seem...

OK, we're fully derailing this, but let's conclude the discussion anyway 😀 The pivot is NEVER going to be above the line between the CoG and the rear axle. Imagine what that bike would like like. Here are some crude drawings I made to illustrate how anti-squat works. First, we have to understand what causes the bike the squat. The force introduced by pedaling makes the rear wheel turn, pushing backwards against the ground (blue arrow below). This causes the bike to accelerate (red arrow at the wheel). Because this force is applied way below the center of mass (the...
