With a saddle angled nose up, it is much easier to move the bike around underneath you and get your butt more towards the rear axle. Don’t believe me, that’s fine. Look at all the World Cup bikes or even bikes at a local dh race. I don’t love the idea of buying something else additional for my already expensive bike(s). I did try this though with a bike that has a 210 dropper, but needed a 240. It now makes it much more rideable and keeps me from having to slam the seat when things get steep going down...

I put a switchgrade on all of my bikes. My climbs are fire roads and then straight down descents. I use 240 droppers and this usually. I can tolerate 210 with one of these on hikes with bad insertion. I’m in the desert for a few months and I’ve changed it to be flat, tilted for dh, and tilted for...

I agree the drop tilt angle for climbing is a bit more than my preference, but I love the concept and still use it for climbing a ton, even if just to change body position and sit back a little more on the seat. The dh mode is absolutely brilliant. I've loved mine so much that a few friends have them and no one regrets it. Killer idea and product

have you ever heard the saying "if you have to ask how much something costs then you can't afford it'? That's Push's motto, they're all about exclusivity and outrageous prices are part of that. I'll stick with my Zeb with Smashpot, it feels amazing!

It’s not that trigonometry is beyond the abilities of mountain bikers (other than maybe the youngest among us), but for whatever reason these conversations are mired in numbers that don’t really tell you what they look like they tell you. Whether you care about where your grips end up in space relative to the bottom bracket or the steer tube or the front axle or the saddle, none of numbers most easy to grab and post online (e.g. stem lengths, bar rises) get you there. And the numbers themselves (“45 mm”) can be freighted with all sorts of riders’ personal...

The bomber feels great. It has some extra sauce in it from a local tuner. Right now it's back at 170/170, but it's great both ways. I'm using the stock bashguard from when I got it. It was bryn atkinson's bike, but I assume that's the same thing.

Push would do themselves a favor if they made a "single overhead" shock with a climb switch at a lower price point. I think the two sets of valving sounds good on paper but most people get confident with how one set of valving works for all types of gravity trails and end up using the other set as a climb mode anyway.

Great labor will keep the good shops thriving. Even as an enthusiast who has always done everything and custom builds everything there's still I'm happy to leave bikes in good hands if I simply don't have the time. Rest of the bike shops I have no remorse for; arrogant attitudes, unjustifiable mark ups for providing no service (buying a frame is the worst!), lack of after-sales support or customer service, it just sucks. Having spent time on both sides of the counter I've heard numerous employee tirades on how pax will be completely screwed over buying from DTC brands as...

Butch, you go for the cheapest option available...I see all your posts. Bike shops are often not the cheapest options. I fully support shops (you know my background)... Nice virtue signal.

So yeah, it’s possible to do it with both links and see what works best! I’ve got experience with such mods with the kid’s bike: a YT Capra 27.5, but it has 26er wheels on it with a 170mm fork (a 160mm 27.5 fork that can go up to 170 when in 26er-mode). To top it off, it also has offset bushes on the shock for another full degree slacker HA. It hits the pedals on the road, if you’re turning and the inward-for-the-turn pedal is in low position, but when it gets on a downhill trail - OMG it...

You're right that the MX link corrects for the BB height and subsequent changes. But a dual crown at 200 in 29 increases static bb and slackens the HTA compared to 170 29er. I'm sure you can go either way and I think it would be pretty slack still. Two ways to go about it in my mind. 1, try to keep the back geo the same using the MX link, then try to get the front geo the same with 200 27.5 dual crown and/or 10mm headset bottom cup like Pivot or GT kinda do. 2. Run the 29er...
