This is a sad development. Enduro as a sport changed mountain biking for the better. The fact that we are pedaling durable rigs that are nearly as good as DH bikes is a direct result of the EWS and its effect on mtb culture. It seemed to be an uphill battle in that the bikes stopped selling, both because they got to such a good place and [my lawyers have advised me to redact this reason for the death of the enduro bike as a growth sector]. A thought at occurred me about the early days of EWS. In my view, a draw to the racing was when DH racers were looking for a career change, for whatever reason, EWS gave a race series to carry on racing in. The likes of Vouilloz, Fabien Barel, Tracey Mosley, Sam Hill, Blenki, Jack Moir (and a load more i can't think of, off the top of my head), changed series and brought some or all of their viewership/fans with them. As someone who hasn’t followed the edr much in the last few years, I was really impressed with the coverage this weekend. Elliot does a great job presenting. The venue looked sick. The “old” guard is gone, but the riding is still top level. I hope brands can get some shredits made of their athletes so we can learn about who we are rooting for.

The coverage this weekend is pretty similar to how it's been covered all year. Elliott Heap goes out to rip a practice lap and talk through it, 25 minutes of practice highlights, 30 minutes of race highlights per race day, plus some interviews. It's been sick! I'm stoked the coverage is good and I watch a bunch and comment every-so-often to make sure the folks behind the videos know it's appreciated. If everyone commented every time, they'd probably do more which would make companies put more effort back into enduro.

I hate to say this but you need 3. An ebike to ride when you have limited time or its too hot or you think its too wet or you're too tired or because the trail sucks. An enduro or 150ish bike to ride the fun trails and still pedal but also to put into a bag so you can travel to cool places to ride all the good shit all around the world. A downhill bike because it feels so good. The end.

For the first time ever, there will be a live broadcast from an Enduro World Cup - tune in on Sunday July 19 at 16h30 CET, 7h30am PST to follow the final stage of racing as it happens. The broadcast will be shown on site in the finish arena, and it will also stream online via MTBWSTV (subject to subscription fees), although we've seen mention of a delay for the online part. The latest communication we have from the World Series mentions a delay for the US audience only, saying the race will be broadcast "shortly after the conclusion", apparently...

Well, you would have to compare the spec radials to spec gravity tires, not grid trail since they are gravity tires and would weigh the same. I know a bunch of people on Schwalbe trail radials and they love them. Same with Schwalbe gravity. Only had one friend who complained about them being slow and giving up on them. And he def was on trails because he doesn't ever us dh casing, even when he really, really should. But he has lucked out so far, so good for him.
