I've heard that the next Shimano drivetrains are supposed to be 13 speed. Both the mechanical and Di2 versions.

Those systems sounds really promising. I’ll be excited to see more brands adopt it and to try one out in the future. I think with what’s available currently it’s hard to go wrong with any of the bikes currently equipped with Bosch, but in 3 years or so that could no longer be the case.

As if bikes aren't expensive enough already, with those pesky round interference holes in place. Sounds like a good idea but I suppose it would be very dificult to implement, because of distortion/alignement issues. We can't afford the quality needed for that, with bikes costing 10k already, as shitly made as most of them are.

You cannot adjust the lower bearing position fore-aft in a tapered 1.5, ZS56 cup. There is 0 room for that. You can adjust the reach by a total of 10mm in a ZS66 cup.

Unless you’re running a straight steerer fork, even if you’ve got a 56/56 head tube, I think you’d need to run an external lower cup for a reach adj headset? I think that eliminates a lot of the benefits.

Because unlike road cycling, historical there's no rider movement in MTB during the "transfer window". New teams are not finalised until January 15th each year. Therefore most riders contracts (along with marketing commitments) run until Dec 31st or even first week of Jan. So there's your answer

That would be the 2025 Instinct SL according to another forum, is someone able to confirm if that's really the case ? Looks like it's just a smaller battery & retuned motor in the existing full power Instinct frame, nothing too exciting.

I prefer the Crab Link. It’s the future obviously. DW spins up designs all the time, and to me they all come across as a good marketing campaign to sell more design. Everything DW is always “better”, and DW is dogmatic that every new product is better than the Crab Link (Horst). Yawn. I like to believe that we’ve finally hit an era in biking where a good design isn’t limited to the patent you hold or the design you licensed. Lots of smart people out there.

Basically whats old is new again, RS used to have goldish stanchions anyways, then in 2001 they came out with a Ti Nitride as you mentioned but it was rubbish and flaked off, they also have gold legs on a Psylo this was 23 years ago before Fox even had a fork im pretty sure.
