Spectating was pretty brutal, makes you really appreciate the hiking trail on 1199. Awesome location just really hard to see anything, hopefully next time you can access a bit more of the track, or more than a few people at a time.

The bike brands are being idiots again, I can pretty much guarantee it. They're frothing over e-bikes, but we're filling up that barrel. E-MTB sales are booming, as people like me bought one in the last year. But soon we'll all have them, and sales will lag. So many noobs are buying them that there won't be the typical 2-5 year replacement cycle that us enthusiasts are on. We wear stuff out, the casual rider doesn't. My next bike purchase will be a traditional enduro bike. (Edit: hopefully a cheap used DH bike as well) I predict another 6 years...

On a global scale we are both unimportant minnows/backwaters. They'll look after the big markets first.

some avinox curiousity. canyon just launched their first bike with it (and 3 more by jan 19). pre-order only with "shipping on jan 19, expected delivery in february." i checked the amflow site and noticed their PX doesn't ship until mid december. when we did our reviews, shipping dates were early october IIRC. now they're december. canyon isn't until january. is anyone aware if recent batches of amflows have been shipped? if bikes haven't gone out, why do we think there are so many delays? i'm not trying to be conspiratorial, but are manufacturing/shipping costs not worth it right now...

Jakob had total shoulder reconstruction in Spain last December. Same doctor that repaired Angel's and several high profile athletes. We weren't even sure if he could race so to skip a few rounds then build, qualify, and crack a top 5 is insane. Dane stayed healthy all year. His P1 Q2 in Whistler didn't surprise me at all. He was 1 tenth of a second from getting through at LP in Q2 as were a lot of guys. Gutted for Rémi, dislocated elbow in Whistler after qualifying in Q1.

So, rumor is that Orbea is changing the rear triangle for next year to have a bridge and be a bit stiffer. That will be good for them to do since it seems like flex is one of the biggest grips on the frame and the tire rubbing bad. Did anyone else catch two different Orbeas snap in half at the world up?

New Specialized Enduro will drop early summer of 2027. It will come specced with a genie zeb fork. It will have a Genie vivid air, that is mounted vertically directly in front of the seat tube. The rear layout will look similar to a 2012 era Demo 8, but with a link that comes around the seat tube to the top of the shock.

haven't confirmed (maybe someone here can?) but have heard that garbanzo gondola closes wednesday for the season, so accessing the course/race by riding down isn't an option. creekside gondola won't be open for riding (it may already be closed?) and single-ride lift tickets for spectating to hike down are $27. we'll try to find out for sure, but if anyone here already knows, please add the intel.
