Because you probably greased the dust wipers and added oil to the foam rings at the same time. Its like blowing on your nintendo* cartridge - its not blowing on it that does anything, its the taking it out and reinserting the pins properly that helps. Or greasing cassette splines - that does nothing, but retorquing the lockring afterwards does Too much grease was a problem nearly 10 years ago now in early 35mm pikes and 36's but since then negative chambers got MUCH bigger, and the amount of grease also dropped to about 25% as much. to the point...

They're just copying srams retarded decision to tuck the hoses up against the bars as though we're all roadies that are going to integrate them into our bars and headsets. I thought we'd effectively communicated to manufacturers that we didn't want that shit but Shimano is late to the party and has misread their customers once again. So now we get more cable rub and noise from both the major brands, unless you're a weirdo who buys Scott I guess. Gives everyone else a little more motivation to explore other options.

I would say the bite point adjustment is visible here at the bottom. I still can't wrap my head around that thick area where the hose connects. It looks just ridiculous, and I'm really curious about the reasoning behind it. Also, what is LV Oil?

I don’t think you get it Dave. We are going to revolutionize fork manufacturing on this forum without ever having visited a factory or even talking to a designer or engineer about the myriad of factors that affect the design and manufacture of said forks.

Did we discuss the ridiculously large flight attendant lights or whatever they were? I forget who it was but one of the women had one facing forwards looked like an F1 car tail light. Then Loris was shining so bright into his face I could see the glare which had to be distracting as hell. I think a simple small LED light would of been sufficient.

That is true, but Fox wouldn't have all build data on the website listed by serial number if it was still just a RAD project. The inverted Fox fork is going to be released.

Agreed unfortunately. If that fits the rule book. Side note/soapbox to complain about Rick’s commentary. He doesnt talk about the riders, he just podcasts random crap while people are riding. Rob, Elliot and Aaron talked about the riders, results elsewhere, history, and other random facts. It’s like they did research and Rick, not so much.

I agree. That sentence is bizarre. I'm weirded out by the implication that choosing a longer or shorter chainstay length would be a compromise, but somehow choosing a 438mm chainstay length isn't a compromise? Every geometry decision you make on a bike represents a compromise. They're all trade-offs. Either that, or Canyon and friends have stumbled upon the Platonic ideal of the form "chainstay length." We're all in the cave over here, but at Canyon they've unshackled and transcended bodily existence to discovered the one true form of bike geometry. So meta of them.

I'm happy to report Asa is being well compensated, at a level equal to his talent and future. Despite choices aplenty, Asa decided to stay with a team capable of fully taking care of him, but also one whose business dealings have been genuine and transparent. Asa's a bright kid, but to assume he was not properly represented and took advise, especially as one of the most branded athletes in the sport is a bit dramatic. No money nor opportunity left on the table. Opportunity: Taz, Wales...Rampage? Who gets that? Money: Private for obvious reasons, but he's making more at...

Interesting how transmission is lighter despite looking massive XX SL w/ Battery = 441 Pod Ultimate w/ Discrete clamp = 47 488g vs 510g for this XTR Di2 On the topic of tech innovations, I guess we have gone "too far" when it comes to drivetrains. After 7 years of only using AXS, I recently installed the new SRAM mechanical transmission and really enjoying it. Much faster and just as smooth as the Transmission AXS stuff I have been using since launch. You can replace the cheaper components of the 90 groupset like cassette, pulleys and cranks with the higher...

or maybe he just likes the low-key vibes of working with neko and has a good support system where he is. playing the long game of success, comfort, familiarity and fun vs short game of some cash but with a team that may not culturally gel or a bike that doesn't work for him right away.
