So you're telling me people have a hard time maintaining perspective? Guy who was hired to help bike company test bikes because he rides hard enough break bikes actually goes out and rides hard enough to break bikes? Guy who rides hard when cameras aren't rolling also rides hard when cameras are rolling? "...he asked for the clip to be removed from MoiMoi's youtube video..." I guess I didn't know realize you know the inner workings of the Pivot marketing department. Did BK tell you he asked Jack to take it out or did Jack tell you BK asked for...

Slavid666 Liked a reply to forum topic Why is it so hard to find good fitting elbow pads?

After eating crap on probably one of the dumbest slow speed falls I've ever managed to accomplish and in the process gashed my elbow pretty badly, good bone bruise as well, I started wearing elbow pads last year. I started off with the RaceFace Ambush which for me turned into one of the worst pads I've ever worn, I was getting pain on the tip of my elbow from rubbing the inside of the D30 which has no fabric or anything to cover it and protect your skin. I actually got bruising on both elbows just by wearing them for...

Jeff, respectfully, there's this theme in your posts where you assume (I'm paraphrasing) "if only these companies had a good CFO things would turn out differently." If only YT had "sophisticated financial planning and analysis tools," if only they were "watching macro indicators to understand where consumer demand is headed," and "looking at appropriate comps to learn from," if only they'd "started to stress test their model and realized they had a problem with respect to volume and turns against their debt obligations while running a low margin business." Instead, it looks like "CFOing was absent. Nobody was ringing the...

All true. Unless the frivolous spending occurred AFTER the PE buyout and was funded by cash from said buyout. That makes it all good if you ask me. That would make it church and state. Does it look good? Not really. Does the fact the Porsche article showcasing a mansion and two of the most sought after hypercars came out a month and a half before the company entered administration make it look any better? On the contrary. What I'm trying to say is that there is a reasonable chain of events that makes it possible this was not company...

I call it aluminium too but I don't feel like I need to "correct" people about it. It started out as Alumium but then was later named Aluminum by the guy that first worked on isolating the element, and the name was based on "Alumina" which had been in use for a long time to describe the naturally occuring aluminium salts. Aluminium came after, made up by some random british people, and is pronounced completely differently to the root word. Remind me again which one is more correct...?

The last draw benches suitable for aluminum bicycle tubing in the United States were bought by Boeing from a facility in CT(in a building built specifically to handle all the aluminum profiles and bar stock for Cannondale)in 2015 and are now being used to make replacement parts for b52 toilets. I worked with the New Haven chamber of commerce and an angel investor to re-start that facility to serve the remaining domestic 6061 frame builders for a few years, we even managed to draw a bunch of 7005 profiles for a few friends. The final aluminum Turners and Ellsworths, among...

They're still not the most powerful brakes on the market though... They're also heavy af, have a heavy lever pull and are ugly. It's all just marketing from SRAM as per

No one here actually said anything even remotely close to what you’re saying. But you have highlighted my point that Sram users cannot bear to hear anything negative about their components… even when Sram themselves quietly release an update to improve them. Literally every review has commented on the Maven levers being heavy. They’ve also ALL said that it’s not an issue and you get used to it, so why get so butthurt and try to deny it?

i mean youre not wrong but a skier still needs to push into the front of their boot. also not mentioned in the analogy is that lengthening the tails will lessen the forward weight bias needed to turn the ski. if i have to weight the front end i want lower and longer for more stability. but if i want a short reach high stack for body position, i want longer CSs so that i dont have to lean precariously over the front to get that grip. a lot of bike stuff (0 stem...) is trying to fix weight distribution...

Why are you talking about QR and old shitty Ringle stuff? That has nothing to do with... anything really. Fox 36s and everything else used a 20mm thru axle, and most frames were 142 thru. Ringle stuff was always shit and cracky. I did wildly stupid things to my 1750g Mavic wheelset, absolutely beat it to shit, and I only retired it because I bought a 27.5 bike. https://www.vitalmtb.com/community/matf1,19896/setup,33576?keyword=SB66… There's a 160mm enduro bike with alloy rims and a 180mm fork. 13.6kg. It wasn't uncommon at all to build them up under 13kg. What's an SB160 weigh with an equivalent...
