I took it as felt in the form of pedal kickback, but point taken. PS. Love the Username!

Somebody always does this in Leogang, but it never starts to look like a normal thing to do, eh?

Could we also agree, that most changes were for the better or don't event matter that much? Paywall better (because better quality than before) No protection better Intro of semis live on YouTube better Semis no longer broadcast semis don't exist anymore so i guess better? Semis now a qualifying 2 replay. better 60 to 30 men. Not sure we were even hitting the limits in the women’s field most races under redbull. WAY BETTER! 10 women to 15 women. WAY BETTER Entirely new, complicated way of being able to participate which fundamentally change the nature of the sport. Eliminating...

I disagree on both counts. One of the biggest complaints last year from riders was the short amount of time between qualifying and semi-finals. The riders need time to rest, and the mechanics need time to get bikes up and running, especially when a crash or mechanical was involved. Having the Juniors run in between qualifying rounds helps with this. I also think they get it right with the final race order. It has always been the case that fast riders might be early in the order, and that's just racing. Back in the day, the fat guys sometimes played...

The primary is a photo-cell. The wand is an indicator only. We don't do gate starts like BMX. There's also no starting procedure for DHI listed in the tech regs. XCO is quite descriptive, but DH is generally that riders can go in any of the last 5 second beeps.

my arms aren’t symmetrical in any way: length strength, mobility. Eyeballing bars is fine.

Really interesting to watch these private equity firms continuing to sell these brands back to their former owners. You would think buying a large property with resources behind you would be more difficult than managing it. But apparently not.

From a buyers perspective, 20mm axle sucks, as DH bikes seem to be fading, and the popularity of DH hubs with it. I’m assuming it has some serious upsides for stiffness etc. But most will need a new hub, which is like $100-200 + spokes and labor. Worse if you have multiple bikes because they may no longer be swap able between bikes.

I didnt say Trek shouldnt make the bike, I suggested that you, or anyone else, could, likely for similar money, have a custom built bike from an independent (read boutique) builder... You might be trying too hard to find something to argue about.....

How many people actually change pads and rotors? Testing brakes as they come stock is 100 % the right way to do it. I was more surprised that the caliper was bolted to the carrier from the bottom (no friction taking up the load) and maybe that the force applied to lever was an overhang, not sure if us grabbing the bars and the lever makes any changes or not... As for different braking forces, as long as the flex of the system is at least close to linear (should be), the torque response will also be linear. Where changes...

I know someone else has mentioned this before but some teams mounting of mass dampers is laughable. If it’s not a good positive connection it’s going to create even more vibration. Zip tied to the frame. Giant running it on the back of a plastic number boards. Flavor of the month.

Not that I am for people outright cloning other companies' products, I have experienced this professionally myself and it is infuriating, but there is zero IP theft happening with Lewis copying Trickstuff's brakes. Design patents are a type of IP that protects the aesthetics of a product, keeping me too products from existing, but they are super rare and very difficult to get granted. Utility patents which are the IP that one would file for to protect a function or feature, like leverage adjustment or bite point adjustment cover nothing related to how something looks. Lewis copying Trickstuff's brakes does...

But mountain biking and professional athletics more broadly is by definition playing a short game of cash. Asa has only 10-15 years to make money after which he has to transition to something else, a prospect many athletes struggle with. Moreover the bike industry as a whole struggling compounds this. This is why if I were in his circle, I would advise him to maximize his earning now and set himself up better in a volatile future.
