4/15/2025 5:20pm i love you friggin nerds. all bikes are great somewhere. all bikes suck somewhere. get moar bikes. short chainstays are cool. long stays are pretty wild too. dorado FEELS way different to 40. Way. but thats the point right? I feel like santa cruz screwed up by not making bullit "MOST BIGGER" (battery/travel/geo) compared to VALA. but my ebike is a 2stroke. so maybe im way off.

4/15/2025 3:22pm Back when I was young and much faster, in 2011 when short chainstays were all the rage, I had the gen 2 Coilair Magic link. It had like 470mm chainstays or something (thats really long for a 26" bike from 15 years ago). I was faster on it for my local DH track that had lots of steep, loose shale where the 3 min DH segment had average speeds above 25 mph. It was faster for me than my DH bike at the time, despite the Kona having some really crappy tires on it. However, that same Kona was noticeably...

4/15/2025 3:19pm Just sharing my two cents on the Intend Edge, since I've been riding one for a while. TLDR - I don't like it. Long version - I have the Edge, which I ride at 170mm travel. The fork is incredibly smooth on initial stroke, which actually leads to some sensation lost/vagueness on contact, not sure if I can covey that feeling correctly. There's almost a "are my front wheels on the ground?" feeling. I don't believe it's a bad thing, but I could never get used to it. Separate issue is there's not enough damping for me, but that's can...

4/12/2025 3:11pm The "logos on the kit" argument is quite perssuasive i must say. Once again the people's champ delivering sponsorship science to the masses. Respeck. And yet, this clever hypothese opens up another can of worms. Does world Cup winner and long time TRP user ( prototype brakes included) Oisin O' Callagham not get a single dime from Tektro since he...

4/12/2025 2:19pm I mean, paid or not. He was the only one out of the three enduro riders on YT that ran 100% sram parts. Both Kasper and Texi ran some other bits on their bikes for personal preference (Trp brakes etc). But Moir ran the full RS/Sram setup, even a 170mm dropper even though his legs could have him run a 200mm+ dropper from another brand. Thats what makes me think he had some kind of paid deal with Sram. The other guys also ran some blackbox/prototype stuff on their bikes, but Jack was often first. And he also spoke positively...

4/12/2025 2:13pm haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

4/10/2025 1:05pm If Jesse had said "Jack told me...", or "I have info that...", then the chance he got info directly from Jack would be high. However, he said "I think..." several times, as well as "my guess is...". I'm not industry connected, so I have no personal experience in rider contracts. But my understanding is that most are pretty secret, and nobody really knows what anyone else getting. Jesse is entitled to his opinion, and he (hopefully) has very good experience with his won contracts, though you would be surprised how many people don't know what's in their employment contracts. But...

4/10/2025 6:56am Read Marmalade's messages carefully and you'll see he's not denying the matter explicitely and just making an educated guess based on his own contracts. Or course, Jesse's guesses are worth a lot more than ours, him being in the midst of It all. Halfjokingly I have expressed my utmost respect for him as a rider and a person ( I...

4/9/2025 4:03pm Hey everyone, I figured it was time to share a project that’s been quietly evolving over the last 10 months. I’m Laurent – a mechanical engineer and lifelong bike nerd. Together with my friend and coworker Axel, we’ve been designing and building our own custom enduro frame from scratch. This started as a passion project. We wanted to build the kind of bike we couldn’t quite find on the market. we’re just two guys who love riding bikes and wanted to make something that is durable, quiet, easy to live with, and above all, fun to ride. Somewhere along the...

4/8/2025 6:31pm Wow I've never considered an Ari until that new Timp Peak. Nice to see an ebike being sold as a frame, even if it is expensive, but transferrable lifetime warranty?! (this is a first for a DTC brand to do lifetime warranty at all right?) Also, 600wh or 800wh battery that can be swapped or range extended, so all of us should be happy in some configuration. Vertical mount crab link without trunion. It would be really hard to buy a Vala or a Regulator over this if you can come to grips with owning an Ari.

4/4/2025 6:28pm Not to bragg or anything but I'm probably the biggest Melamed fan here - and perhaps in the whole world; but I have to side with the owl on the Sram/Moir Matter. Dont know the first thing about WC money bizness but I find It hard to believe that Sram just supplied MoiMoi with a "couple of forks".

3/26/2025 4:01pm No this test was supported by Feedback Sports and Ride Wrap. BrakeAce also generously loaned us two sets of sensors. Each brand did provide brakes FOC. They were given the same testing parameters and product asks. No brakes were bled by the brand. They arrived in a box the same as any rider recieves them. No one got a special treatment. Our goals/angles we focused on for this test: testing brakes in Whistler because the trails are proper and relatable/familiar to many riders. 2.) Test an entry-level brake against premium options. 3.) Compare/test staple brakes like XTR and Code. 4.)...
