600£ gets me one single prototype bolt with two threadbolcks to tighten both bolts to 55Nm for 200 times before increasing torque by 5Nm every 10 cycles until the max torque of 100Nm is reached and very sore arms have to give up. The price is just high enough that I don't loose to much money without even including prototypes and my time. Comparing Swiss made small batch parts with shimano SLX is kind of rude but mathematically you are not wrong.

Shame they went single Boa over dual Boa. I have never liked the uneven feel of a single Boa shoe — might as well do laces. Hopefully specialized bring out a dual dial flat shoe at some point.

The Fox shoe is slightly softer in the overall construction, you'll get a little more support from the Freeerider Pros, both in terms of sole and uppers. The "instant plushy comfort" factor is higher with the Fox, but they can feel a little bit less connected in terms of the overall shoe. The Five Ten has better grip in the heel cup as well, notably. As for the outsole, the Fox does a great job when it's new, almost as sticky as the Five Ten, then it tends to drop off a bit more as the shoe ages. Ultimately, the...

Specialized Project Black is an internal development initiative by Specialized that focuses on creating and testing advanced pre-production cycling products in real-world scenarios. This program leverages feedback from professional athletes to refine designs, some of which eventually become available to the public. The initiative encompasses a range of components, including frames, tires, saddles, and handlebars. Notably, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 Project Black LTD frameset, initially developed for pro riders like Remco Evenepoel and Demi Vollering, was later released in limited quantities to end users.

It's a matter of time when the good ol FAFO will catch up to them. So far it has been ethical issue but soon enough they will infringe a patent making it a legal issue. They might not care about that stuff in the country of origin but with them partnering with western companies, that is not going to sit well. I see they even copied the bearing arrangement of Outlier pedals 1:1 sigh..

We really, really need to bring the hammer down on this IP theft. Not only are they stealing ideas and patents from people who have spent good r&d money on developing their ideas, they haven't done the r&d, so there's far less understanding of the decisions that led to the original design. It's wholly unsafe and not to be mistaken for simply reverse engineering existing components. I don't understand why they can't just make new stuff???

Nothing really new here, but EXt working on some "normal" looking mud gards! Hope that fox offers a similar one in the future. Gives the USD fork kind of a more "normal" look. (I say normal just because im not used to USD forks in mtbs, but they do look good)

A few things to consider for those thinking Asa might be getting the short end of the stick. First, Neko is not going to take advantage of Asa; in fact I believe it's the opposite. He's looking out for his overall success, financially and between the tape. Those saying Asa doesn't know what he's doing or that a contract just appeared in a parking lot and he signed it w/o spending time on the details beforehand is insulting to Asa as well as Neko's motives. Second, I'd wager Asa is getting very fairly compensated. There may be some creative incentives...

I wish they would be able to bring in more top world cup contenders, though I understand that not everyone is willing to take the risk. If you see Hardline as a race, then there's only 3.5 actual contenders for the win on the men's side - Jackson/Asa/Ronan, and maybe Bernard on a good day but I don't think he's really up to speed with the first 3. The features and gnar is interesting to watch, but actual race runs are...less exciting until the last couple contenders. Probably an unpopular opinion I guess.

Here are my thoughts on the negative spacer and if I am off on anything please let me know. This is from an Ohlins video explaining their air spring for reference, and you can see that the negative spacer only affects the first third of travel. Just as a note on the graph, it is just a screen grab and it might be a little deceptive because the red line is referencing stock negative spring but with an increased ramp up while the green is negative spacer removed but lower ramp up pressure. As I understood it, removing the negative...
