Interesting tidbit from Dave Rome's interview w/ the XTR PM: the infamous pad rattle is caused by the pads hitting the retaining pin, not the caliper. New pads have an ovalized hole (so they can rock back and forth but not up and down) which supposedly fixes the issue.

Heard about an updated transition spur recently, similar design language as the new sentinel, still has a flex stay and seems to be 120/120. No word on release date.

i just want to make one last comment re: deleting pics, community etc then i'll be quiet. over the last few years, i've become very aware of how much of a privilege it is to be a part of a community that is supported by some of the best brands in our game. but the key word here is community...YOU all are the community. without you and your sleuthing, your knowledge, your stoke for the sport and its equipment, or your informed opinions, vital wouldn't be very special. with that said, if all vital does is bow down to brands...

Myself:- I have a litre bottle of the current shimano fluid and a small bottle of royal blood, they're notably different viscousities when you compare them, but neither are as thin as DOT. If the new shimano fluid is even close to DOT, they're probably on to a winner.

The USA's customs and immigration policies have been hostile to non-citizens for years, but it's now reached a new level (or several new levels) of paranoia. And anyway, if the border closes (which it won't) it's far more likely to close from the American side...

I can't come up with anything that does it justice, so I'll just leave it here: " The " Goldilocks crab " refers to the hermit crab in a shell chain that perfectly fits its size, triggering a shell exchange among other hermit crabs ."

I agree that the comment on reflecting pricing was interesting, but I do understand how the significant demand could cause inventory analysis problems depending on how their internal system runs. Speaking from some experience, since it appears Revel assembles everything from the frame up in house, it can be a tricky game since plenty of parts are likely inventoried as individual components that are used in subassemblies of larger BOM's (only "assembled" once ordered), that are also shared between multiple builds/platforms. I have no clue how their inventory or ERP/webstore is set up, but as someone who has managed inventory...

Back when I was young and much faster, in 2011 when short chainstays were all the rage, I had the gen 2 Coilair Magic link. It had like 470mm chainstays or something (thats really long for a 26" bike from 15 years ago). I was faster on it for my local DH track that had lots of steep, loose shale where the 3 min DH segment had average speeds above 25 mph. It was faster for me than my DH bike at the time, despite the Kona having some really crappy tires on it. However, that same Kona was noticeably...

Possibly related, in the recent MBR video about the new Levo, there is this foam model next to the one of the designer's desks: In the (possibly relevant) rendering above the models, it looks to be a bike with a single crown:
