Have you noticed over the past few years that there has been one frame dimension that people obsess over? One year was head angle, then reach, then seat tube angle, stack now it's chain stays.. Now seeing more people who are realizing that all those numbers have to work together...

The single review on the site is something to behold: " Blulans? Mor like BluAwesome! S11ULT a bit more expensive than a handful of bikes but this is carbon fiber and you know what that is to mean: top of the notches and the best buck bang on the market area. I have one in my dreams and in the garageway I are many reasons for superior performance. Firstly is one shock and then another shock. The response is overwhelming. For the number 2 reason is the Blulang legacy and industry leading excellence. If you are familiar with Role Royce...

Don’t know a lot about labor politics outside the U.S., but respectfully, labor unions really can take credit for getting US workers the 40 hour work week and the weekend. Labor unions did that, and it took about 60 years of organizing before FDR signed the Fair Labor Standards Act into law in 1938: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2015/sep/09/viral-image/does-8-ho…

Apart from the fact that I can't fit into roadie kits, I would never ride around with giant PNS letters on my clothing. Reminds me of the ol' PEN15 trick from like middle school.

Not to diminish GM's financial mismanagement (or any of the other companies involved), but TARP made a profit for the US taxpayer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troubled_Asset_Relief_Program

Hey Jeff, I'm so sorry that my forum post bummed you out so much. It sounds like you want to stop posting on Vital entirely based on what I wrote. I'm so sorry it was so disrespectful. I have really appreciated your insights and analysis, and I think everyone has, and this bike industry forum in particular has been like a mini "intro to finance course" over the last 3 years based on everything you and other people (who know way more about this stuff than me) have contributed. Rereading what I wrote, I can see how my words may...

I am not upset about the weight and nowhere was I complaining. I simply stated what I built and the weight. It’s about 2 lbs heavier than the carbon frames, that’s what the conversation topic was about.

I'm on a L 2018 Smuggler which came with a 40mm stem and 20mm rise (7° backsweep) bars. I'm now on 50mm rise, 10° backsweep bars on a 60mm stem. The increase in backsweep which is heaven for my wrists did result in a more cramped feeling "reach" hence the 60mm stem. Stem height is probably 5mm lower than what it was originally.

I think that the deeper you dive into this stuff, and the more opportunities you have to meet the people designing these mtb things, the more sympathy you develop and the more understanding you have over the flaws in the products. You lose the “everything sucks, the brands are selfish assholes who never give me the stuff I want for the price I deserve to pay” and gain a perspective like “damn it takes a lot of work to make bikes that ride this sick, and there is a ton of money that goes into this damn sport to fuel...

The arm plates I'm thinking from memory it was after 1 year they would need to come out as the bone starts growing around them, I had a hell of a time with them though bent them in my race run at Fort william 2011 and then tried to continue racing in Leogang the following week as I couldnt quite accept what had happened.

I'm an non-pro rider, I broke my ankle very badly about 15 years ago (talus fracture, there was even a chance that I would lose my foot completely) and have still 5 pretty large screws in there. The recommendation was to leave the screws if they don't bother me and they don't. I also have a limited range of motion which sucks when I ski, but that's because there is protrusion that came to be some time after the injury that mechanically blocks the motion. But since it's my rear foot, it doesn't bother me when I ride. However, it's...
