that‘s the myth from motoGP but in mtb öhlins sponsors their teams the same way as RS and fox does. otherwise they wouldn‘t have a chance to get their feet into the bike market.

this year there were 14 stops across XC, DH, and Enduro, but only 7 DH races. wonder what the breakdown will be for 2025.

It's going to take some big $$$ from companies outside of cycling to keep the train rolling.

I mean.. Windrock is about 45 min away from Knoxville. I guess lodging would be hard right at the venue because it's not necessarily a resort. It's not a super long drive though, not sure I buy that.

Want to say Scott & Oakley tried them years ago in moto, but gave up because costs back then were insane & glitches caused canisters to randomly dump the whole roll in a single cycle? Not even sure at the time if they had bluetooth tech when they tried using motors. I "think" then they were just motorized. No remote trigger. Button whack on the canister to activate. The Risk Racing has 2 cool features. 1. Can clip onto any brands Roll Off since it just actuates the string pull 2. If battery dies or the bluetooth signal glitches, you...

If safety is your top priority, then I’d take a look at 6D. It sounds like they have something new coming out on the moto side in the next couple of weeks, so maybe some new MTB stuff will follow? It is curious that all the Astars guys are using the moto helmet. Giving Astars the benefit of the doubt...

But he has said in the past that he prefers a more professional set up, didn’t work at Santa Cruz because of the lack of testing seemingly. Having done a lot of testing pre-season when he was team mates with Loic. you could be right……. But where would he go that’s got a set up that suits him?

Which means it will be impossible to replace the cassette when it wears out. All other T-type cassettes are for XD drivers.

Looks like DVO has a new Onyx dual crown incoming. I’m assuming 38mm stanchions, but skeptical those crowns will be production? Unless it’s an e-bike/moto specific crown. Certainly looks interesting especially with the conversations about Loic running a split crown.

Playing devils advocate here but isnt this problem solved with 1. progressive leverage curves 2. Shock ramp-up via volume spacers 3. HBO damping circuits 4. The severity of a harsh bottom out is way to exaggerated I'm not saying the stumpy is a bad bike, but "solving" bottom outs really isn't that important IMO.

I don't think this frame's kinematics are as weird as the custom Genie shock would make it seem. It seems like a big volume/linear air can on a Super Deluxe with HBO would be comparable in function. A coil with HBO would be even better as long as the coil is approved for the Stumpy's clevis shock mount. Maybe tune your compression shims for a lower leverage rate and rebound shims for lower spring rates.

Or, on the flip side, what about Specialized riders who aren't sponsored by SRAM for drivetrains?

I’m gonna go against the grain of most of you. I actually think the wireless only is a smart move. (Presuming they are releasing an alloy model that can run mechanical drivetrains). Having an already premium carbon bike that can only run wireless makes it seem a little “more premium.” People that drive Rivians and Teslas to the trail head will love that their bike is exclusively wireless. While the people that drive 20 year old lifted Tacomas will get the option of the alloy version. I’m sure specialized has done their homework and they know that the amount of...
