Very curious to see the reviews on the mech transmission. Specifically, how much of the “amazing shifting under load” is really due to the firmware rate limiting the shifts, vs the actual cassette design (Ofc if the system prevents you from dumping gears in a bad place or otherwise shifting like an idiot then the shifting will appear to be better…).
Also more curiosity than ever to try and run the direct mount derailleur with a shimano hyperglide chain and cassette….probably need to swap the jockey wheels but otherwise it should work?

Isn't the clutch itself included as a single replacement part on the derailleur side of the T-Type electronic cages? I just needed that inner plate and my only option was to replace the plate with the derailleur for $125 for the GX. That was the cheapest option. This would mean I could buy a whole mech derailleur for the same price to salvage for parts?
A year ago that was the case, but now they also sell just the cage assembly minus the clutch for like $30, including jockey wheels. It's actually cheaper than just a set of jockey wheels.

Good to know as this was last year! But that's charging $95 more just to include the clutch? The same clutch that comes with the Eagle 70 derailleur for the same price? I'm mostly calling bullshit on SRAM's spare part pricing for the electronic Transmission stuff.

As for contact point adjustment, Level brakes never had it. Not sure where Motive slots in, but it seemed G2 brakes were dying a slow death anyway and were being replaced by Level.
@Etney not much difference to Eagle GX, NX and SX cranks offer, length and price wise. And construction wise.

According to srams website, GX and NX are available only in 165mm minimum. I can only find "previous gen" Eagle X1 with shorter cranks than that, and then you'll have to get a different chainring since its not transmission compatible afaik. And SX is not available for consumers afaik.

Eagle 70 has a different (drag spring) clutch compared to 90 (and the rest of a pack), which is I assume is something like type2 design - sram claims it’s still stronger than a shitty type 3 found in 12 speed regular eagle (non ttype)
I was looking at the new 2026 Santa Cruz Eagle 70 & 90 builds released today and saw these black Mavens on the spec list, they're the new base version of the Mavens.
This new version has a DirectLink lever instead of the SwingLink we all love, does anyone know if the lever feel was updated or if that mushy Code R feeling is back ?
The new Motives are also DirectLink only which is surprising.

Man, Santa Cruz has the nicest paint in the business, but chooses the ugliest damn colors on everything.

Would be surprised if it is just volume expansion. Appears to be on one of the Commencals as well. My guess would be external tunability of some kind (of something). There are a few ways you could conceivably adjust the volume without depressurizing the chamber, but not without altering the vol/pressure ratio. Integration of flight attendant would track, but unless it's a coin cell the lack of batteries suggests otherwise. RS hasn't put a coil spring in a fork for about 15 years, but who knows, what's old is new sometimes.

Other thing noteworthy is that both 5010 and Tallboy didn't get new colors or even new build kits listed for the Sram 70 & 90 transmission groupset. So most likely launch of new version later in spring.

The Float X Genie already exists (seems to come on some of the eebs)
Even if you couldn't get hold of one, by the looks of the teardown, I don't think there's a reason all of the genie-ish parts couldn't be transferred to a regular Float X in either 210 or 185T shocks.
What a copy they have made of the Manitou Mara Pro.

I feel like this is also very worth to mention. The new crankset comes in a bunch of different lengths, and is very reasonably priced. Instead of buying some aftermarket €500-1000 crankset, here you get both a chainring and a crankset with built in bash guards for sub €200 euros.
Might even be good for people or shops to buy, and just let people run them as test cranks in the shorter lengths.
Edit: Forgot to even check, the Eagle 70 crankset is just about €100, available in the same lengths, with a chainring. Seems like actually a VERY good value for money.
Nice, thanks. The Eagle 70 crank also comes with the regular 3 bolt chainring interface, so we have a selection of chainrings. The chainline is 55 mm, but I think that is with 3mm offset so you can get to 52 mm with 6mm offset as you said in a later post. Cheap availability of 155 and 160 mm crank arms are great for those that need/want that.
My kids are now almost fully grown now, so I don't think I am interested though. The 90 crank has the new 8-bolt interface, but also goes down to 155mm.
Finally I can get cabled Transmission for my frame with 55 mm chainline :-)
That tracks, considering they released a cable dropper remote, I did wonder.
Since the reverb name is sullied though, i'd be interested if they keep it for the one that likely might not have anything to do with the posts of old.

The eagle 90 stuff looks sweet! I’m so on board with it. Going to try and buy that group asap.
But I’m really surprised with what they are doing with brakes. Here’s a new/shittier code that you can’t get with a swing link and if you don’t like it than too bad you need mavens now.
At least keep producing the code plz.
Can’t understand the logic of Sram with the new shifters, shifting maximum only 2 cogs when going easier gears and only 1 cog when going faster gears (smaller cogs). I’m constantly using the double-shifting to faster gears that my Saint 820 has and it’s the coziest option the shifter has, at least for me.

My guesses is that they will have list of length sizes, maybe more ‘home mechanic’ friendly.. just simplify it, there’s no real need to have hydraulic fluid dropper.. all new axs for they ones out there that want less cables… but a budget friendly cable version that with satisfy most.

If only the rear derailleur was a little bit lighter... I'm fine with the weight of GX Eagle level components, the equivalent t-type cassette weights about the same but there is 100gr more on that rear mech. You can pick an XO cassette to partially offset that, but there is a substantial price increase for not a lot of weight to be saved. Lets see how the durability in the real world is, maybe it is worth it
Spotted these on a bike in the KS booth at the Taipei Show. Anyone recognize them?

As someone else said, they are Onirii. I have a set of IIIPRO4 brakes from this brand on a Krampus klunker build, they're actually decent. I wouldn't trust them on a more serious trail or enduro bike though.

Because the downside with transmission is, if you shift in to easier gears too fast, is the cage hits the casette.
The derailleur regardless of wireless or wired, only shifts when it hits the ramps in the casette (or the chain climbs I should say), so if you are far away from the ramp, and dump a few gears, it will shift take a while for the chain to climb up, and hit the casette. I have encountered this in the beginning when I ran transmission, and iirc its when you dump about 3 gears. So that would be my guess why they limit it to 2 gears per sweep. I believe this is also why it shifts so well under power.
Might be a dealbraker for some, not for me. When you know about it, and can "work around it" transmission works VERY well. I think I've had 3 sets of transmission now, and all have been flawless so far.

I've been a bit anti 12 speed and anti-electronic shifting for some time. Not because I'm an old man screaming at the clouds but because I bought them and used them for 2 years and frankly found them heavy and to not really do anything better.
However, at least for my e-bikes, I think I'll go with the new Transmission 90 (or whatever it's called) with the GX cassette on my next full power e-bike. I'll stick to 11 speeds on my pedal bikes though.
I still think e-bikes need wide ratio 11 speed cassettes from about 10-48, but I don't get to decide.
Sorry, missed the 155 mm and 160 mm options...

I had to buy a set and I don't even need them. I'm a sucker for limited edition.

Someone at SC is stuck in the 1980s
And a comment on the entry Maven's "Directlink" lever. Presumably less snappy and possibly closer to the feel of SRAM's existing DOT brakes?
Can’t link the picture but new top cap on the boxxer on the trek? From pit bits. Like mrp noken

IIIPRO/Onirii aka Temu/AliExpress special. Looks like they were inspired by Code Ultimates for this iteration.
Just to spin back to the 32" conversation... Does that make the 34sl and 36sl make more sense? Even if I hate that it might?
I couldn't even stand over a 32" tire so I don't see myself being able to ride one. I'd look like a 10 year old on an XS 29 in frame.

New Reverb in offiicial SRAM materials. Can't be far away now.

Seemingly April… also launching cable versions.

But have you seen the paint on Mondrakers? Just as good or better

Maybe wireless bar switch?
according to specialized "riding changes forever" on april 8th. anyone have any ideas what that means?
