world cup DH bike weights.

I know anything about a new saint group feels like beating a dead horse at this point, but it caught my attention that the Pivot mechanic specifically mentioned the Saint cranks. I know when the lugged prototype was first rolling around it was on Raceface Atlas cranks with Saint stickers, but the latest pics do look like Shimano cranks. Not 100% sure if they're just relabeled XTs or XTRs but seemed interesting.

Also Cascade I think it might be past your bedtime, but we'll let it slide in exchange for some Dominion brake booster spy shots...

those hybrid type e-mtb's make sense, would be good for adventuring on fire roads (ours are rough AF) and generally good for getting older people on bikes. I'm all for it.

Re: Shakeweight on a hardtail, I was thinking about this the other day. My Torrent would be incredible with a bit of sting taken out the back.

Exactly this, we are all here for latest and most capable bikes designed mostly for descending but haibike targets specifically German market and if anyone ever ventures into the area of northern Alps with their vast network of long range bicycle routes this type of bikes will represent some 90% of what you will see mostly ridden by groups of very active retirees.

And then Haibike was like: "Hold my beer..."

EDIT: I'm just realising I was a bit late on this one. Sorry guys.

Wowzers, 490/495 mm reach in a large and 450/455 for a medium, maybe some people will love that but that feels like to large of a jump between sizes,.

This has to be a typo right? Aren't most people on size L (M on some brans now) which is 470-480 reach??

If this is correct, it leaves a big hole in the sizing and that hole is where the majority of adult males in the US would be. IIRC average height in the US is 5'9" for adult males which equals to somewhere around a 470ish reach give or take depending on body proportions.

Seems like a big oversight if true.

I dont want to let this down. 4bar is now crab link for me in this forum. One day I want to see a press release from a bike company, that lurks here, announcing that their frame has “Crab Linkage System”. One day.

Cascade Components has the opportunity to do something hysterical here.

"IIRC average height in the US is 5'9" for adult males"
This explains the proliferation of massive, lifted, 6l pick ups perfectly.

Well, now you’ve done it.

Every time a company boasts in-frame storage, I’m going to call it “crab leg storage.“

The saddest thing about this image is that AI thinks the most typical full sus mountain bike has a motor. And headset cable routing. 😢

Haibike saw that video from a decade ago of that French dude riding the mountain scooter and 10 years later they were like "Yes, but what if it was in e-bike form?"

Not a big fan of 4bar bikes, they're a little bit too snappy and too much lateral movement

It’s not 100% on topic for this thread, but it’s probably more on topic than the crustacean discussion.

A while back I think I saw some slick moto style split triple clamps on here. Does anyone remember what they were, or if anyone else makes aftermarket Fox 40 crowns?

I’m trying to find a set of 44 or 48mm offset crowns; the Fox ones seem to be vaporware according to the LBS (and they’re horrifically expensive)

You can get 48mm crowns from Fox. The 44mm have been discontinued but they did have the lower crown and flat upper crown a few months back.

Here's the part numbers...

Last time I talked to the LBS, they said that the 44 and the 48 lower crown were both unavailable with no estimated stock date.

I was considering buying a Marzocchi 58 for the crowns because they’ve been on sale but it looks like they ditched the 48mm option too.

Any word if/when Marzocchi is going to come out with a 29" 58? I want a simple freeride/park fork that can fit 29" wheels, not a $2500+ Boxxer Ultimate or Fox Factory 49.

Banshee putting all models on a pretty good discount…sign of the times or something new incoming? Latest iteration came out 2019, so they’re about due… not much to change on them though, maybe slightly better seatube insertion and udh..
