Speaking of the new Super Z ....
Is that really the weight!?? (Starting weight of 2180grams apparently) .... if so that would be awesome to have something that looks so sick, also not be as flippen heavy as the ZEB or Fox38 ....
*EDIT. Other site info from "The Lost Co" comment: lighter+different spring plus the obvious GripX make it lighter by 200g compared to a fox38 .... makes a nice option.
Lower weight means better maneuverability (during air time especially) btw ....
So Fox indeed produced a onsie for dh. I thought this was still forbidden by the rules, maybe something will change. MX and DH are now at such a level of athleticism that it is not a surprise to see this kind of sport gear. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5oI803JqEW/?igsh=MXB0dWlhZ2xvcTBwdw==
Well… it Looks like Raww need to shake their darn head!
All jokes aside, the bike looks great.
seems to be the case. shorts are allowed but require knee and shin gaurds. interesting that jerseys must be tight fitting or tucked in.
§ 3 Clothing and protective accessories
4.3.011 Jersey The jersey shall be a long-sleeved shirt whose sleeves extend down to the rider's wrists. Jerseys used in downhill events should be of a type specifically designed and sold for use in BMX Racing or Mountain Bike downhill events. Jerseys designed for road cycling, skinsuits, or one-piece suits comprising the jersey and the pants/shorts are not permitted for use in downhill events. The jersey must be either close fitting around the waist or must be tucked into the pants before the start to not cause interference.
Pants Long pants or short pants combined with suitable knee and shin protection are authorised. Such long or short pants should be of a type that is specifically designed and sold for use in BMX Racing or Mountain Bike downhill events. Long pants of the type described above must be of one-piece construction and made of tear-resistant material. They should cover the entire length of both legs until just above the shoe or ankle. Short pants of the type described above must be of one-piece construction and made of tear-resistant material. They should be worn together with suitable leg protection, that covers the entire knee and the entire shin until just above the ankle. (text modified on 1.01.23).
I see the pants rule was modified at the start of last year. I wonder how it was worded when Johannes Von Klebelsberg (AKA The Denim Destroyer) was racing?
They could have just left out the part about the tight fit as Dudes like Bruni, Iles, Goldstone and Greenland basically have the aerodynamics of a roadie
Huh ?
Fox forks are actually pretty exemplary as far as backwards compatibility of dampers go. I have a what is now a 3 generations old RC2 damper in a '23 36 chassis for example.
This is maybe the biggest news in mountain biking all year
I'm not seeing it under the drop down menu, just the usual sizes. I respect wanting it so badly you hallucinated it though, I'm not there yet but I'm close
That's all the part numbers and options…
That's odd, I only see the 27.5x2.5 before clicking the box. When the drop down opens though, no listing. I'm on mobile using Chrome.
Stoked to see a hard compound 29" DH casing DHR2 in 2.5". 100% that will be my next rear tire purchase for my one-size-fits-most Enduro/trail/XC/DH bike
Michelin DH34 Bike Park as works, but they're not the best made tyre, and wire bead. Cheap though.
Last Weekend a friend send me a picture of a sram employee with a nukeproof giga and Vivid and ZEB flight attendend. He was riding in a Bikepark in Germany. So it is not really a secret. And could be released soon
that Magic Mary/Shorty looking proto maxxis will be named Highroller 3, that's all i know, coming soon
Vivid air and Zeb Flight Attendant already out...
https://youtu.be/ZHtiaw6yaN8?si=aWtWvBkbBEJ33Omh
That's a Super Deluxe...
No DHR 2 in 2.50 width in the list for me.
Another choice in that same category and cheaper:
Eliminator Grid Gravity 2Bliss Ready T7/T9 (specialized.com)
Terrible tires. EXO weight sidewalls and wire bead = squirmy POS that hurts to install.
try scrolling up in the drop down… at first i couldn‘t find it either.
edit: ok funny, can‘t see it on PC with chrome but works on iphone with safari.

2.5 dhr2 is lovely, ‘bout time. But 2.4 front/ 2.3 rear dhr2 is already dope if you can still manage to find a 25mm ID rim on the rear of your bike.
Bringing back non-wt 2.4” product would be even better for people that haven’t bought into the wide rim trend, but, alas I guess 30mm id is here to stay?
Fascinating conversation, y’all
What kind of ebike is best?
The red one.
To me it looks like ebikes have been the driver for Maxxis to make the DHRII available to the public in 2.5 and/or with harder compounds in DH casings. Shame we could have gotten there earlier with existing demand but beggars can’t be choosers.
I'm curious what you guys are stoked about with the 2.5 over 2.4?
