Does anyone have info about Formula releasing a new shock and fork ? I've heard they have something in the pipes but didn't want to show it at Eurobike. Formula MOD is an excellent shock so hopefully it won't go away, maybe something air, or lighter for climbing oriented riders ? As for the Selva few friends have it and love it but many think a biger chassi would be great so maybe a "Zeb/38" offering from Formula ?

Weren't there murmurs of an air variant of the MOD?

Here's another little detail I just found out about the new Commencal Meta V5: Internally at Commencal, within the official documentation, the Meta V5 is known as the 2023 "Meta TR".

That could mean that they do really see it as more of a trail bike, which leaves some unoccupied space in their line-up for a long-travel single crown bike a la Canyon Torque. So maybe they are secretly also working on a long-travel version to replace the Meta AM and SX.

They could make a longer travel bike with this new suspension design and kill off like 4 models- FRS, clash, meta sx, old meta am 29

never understood why they make so many different but similar purpose free ride/park bikes

SX sounds more menacing than AM. They'll probably continue with SX, and my guess would be they'll bump the rear travel to 170mm (after all, the current SX goes to 173mm with the WRP link) and will put a 170-180mm fork up front. Smile

I have a sx with a 65 stroke shock and 180 zeb.  Great park/smasher bike

RE the S-Works proto DH bike under Finn and Loic.

In Vital Pit Bits from Leogang, Kevin Joly (Finn mech) let slip the term "Q-BB", in relation to the suspension design maybe?

https://youtu.be/gf9mIJPZ5CM?t=317

Some of you may know more already? Also there are some good shots of the main bearing area from the swingarm on Loic's bike in that video too.

I caught that too a few days ago; wasn't sure if he was possibly saying "E-BB" (which would make sense for 'eccentric') or "U-BB". I thought the "Q" could have been the accent and an error in the captioning.

Two years ago formula guy was making fun of brands going to 38mm stanchions instead of DC forks. It would be sad to see them change their mind and aborting DC Selva.

Meta V5 with mixed-sized wheels will be released next Thursday. Curious to see the spec, geo and target audience. I assume it will be 170-180 in the front and 160-170 in the rear.

If you want best bang for your buck brakes got to go Hayes.

How do you figure Codes/XT's are more powerful than MT5's?  Or do you mean they are if paired with your caliper?

I’m assuming he’s figuring his calipers are more powerful simply based off the fact Magura’s are temperamental, fragile, plastic landfill fodder.

Calipers of magura’s aren’t plastic. Lever reservoir is the carbotecure plastic bit.

Sworks Kenevo SL with the updated motor (1.2), carbon SRAM cranks, and what appears to be a UDH are up on a few european sites for purchase (I'd guess a few retailers didn't get the memo on a delayed launch?). No frame changes by the look of it, so I didn't think a screenshot was warranted for this thread (especially because it's an ebike, give us the new demo pls).

On their lowest offrering even the lever blade is plastic. On Mt5/7 and whatever the 2 piston equivalents are blades are alu. But the main body being plastic is also rubbish. My partner lost the lid that goes over the reservoir membrane resulting in complete loss of braking, not crash or obvious reason for that part to pop. I saw omething similar happen to a rider during an Enduro race. Definitely does not inspire much confidence in my MT7s and I might go metal MC and lever soon.

Saw the new Specialized Stumpy Evo yesterday at sky tavern bike park in Reno, predictably moved away from the cross strut and has same suspension design as the Levo SL.  Was a sexy poo brown color, wonder why it hasn't been released yet as it looked like a production bike.

Pretty sure it was Stumpy Evo, I would suspect the new Stumpy will be released, too, and would assume it's more important to have those bikes before a new Enduro that shares similar design que's to the Kenevo SL.

Looks very similar to Cannondale Habit as well...

I saw that today, too.

It could be a Status, but the whole point of the Status is it’s cheap because it re-uses tubing, linkage and hardware from previous model frames all cobbled together like Lego so tooling costs are massively cut down… so I feel like a ground up refresh would defeat the purpose. Definitely not a new Enduro from the rumblings I’ve heard, Enduro will continue on with a more wild linkage layout, not the yoke driven toptube mounted shock style. So all signs point to new Stumpy? Maybe just another weird one off like the DH bike, since whatever that thing is, is dressed for slalom.

Spotted someone on an identical frame in creekside yesterday, also running Hunt wheels. Pretty certain it's a Privateer from the hardware and cable guide on the head tube.

I'm pretty sure there are welds on this frame, so... Status? Definitely not the current one, but the layout fits.
