Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
I am on the smaller side, 5'6" maybe 5'7", riding their size 2 or Medium and seat tube is not slack at all, maybe if you are at the very end of their largest size, I wouldn't know tall people problems. At least comparable to all the other bikes I've owned and ridden recently. 2022 Transition Patrol, Sentinel, Spire, 2023 Smuggler, 2023 Intense Tracer 279, 2023 Specialized SJ and SJ EVO, 2023 SCOR 4060, 2023 Trek Fuel. Best pedaling and climbing bike out of the bunch too.
The ProsCloset has new frames for sale, discounted too. Not the new ones with UDH and mullet rear ends but you can always upgrade to that in the future. Pink Bike also has a lot of for sale in Canada too.
Embargoed until spring 2024.
Seat height for tall riders often comes quite far above the top of the headset which means the actual seat tube angle affects the effective cockpit length and body position. The advertised seat tube angle used to be 3+ degrees off the effective seat tube angle at seat height.
For medium-large riders the seat height is much closer to the top of the headset and thus the advertised effective and the resulting seat tube angle are very close to each other.
Bloody hell that's 12 months away
Norco could shut down before the new bikes are released.
He did have one on the old strive for a little bit.
That’s only six months for me.
RT-CL900.
Seems to have dropped with the recent 12 speed mechanical GRX and 105.
The recent article from https://escapecollective.com/shimano-grx-rx820-12-speed-mechanical-a-hands-on-look/ suggests that the whole line of freeza rotors is going to this less polygonal shape moving forward, which was introduced with 12spd Dura-Ace.
Looks like while the covers are off on Shimano's website, they're not in any online stores yet (in 180 or 203).
I personally preferred the edgier look, and somehow I guess the polygons would stick out into the wind more.
Here's XT just for kicks too. Here's hoping they make a CL 220 in something higher than Deore, my fat ass needs the cooling.
Anyone know the Rocky Instinct/Altitude embargo date?
Hand is hiding the rebound knob from the new damper
Probably Texi, Jack doesnt use coil shock either, he has a Vivid
Spotted on a Rocky Mountain factory tour (9min40)
Can also see the new altitude briefly being assembled @ 6:38 and black frame hanging @ 7:01
New Transition Repeater full power ebike with the SRAM motor and through the frame routing from the other site's EDR Tech Randoms...
They talked about the high pivot prototype somewhere. Apparently they tried it and didn’t like it so probably not going to production.
Is it just me or does this HP Rocky have both a double crown fork and a widerange cassette?
Great catch!
Wonder why the downvote. Man’s speaking the truth
I'm guessing it's because it's an ebike. But it's an ebike that used to have cable tourism and they've addressed the issue. That's a win in my book.
That may or may not have been a slayer proto that didnt happen... from my understanding they couldn't get it to ride the way they wanted, which was poppy and playful instead of a full sled
Then apparently they need to contact Devinci and ask them what they did with the Chainsaw in order for everybody to rave about it and still say it’s not a full blown dh-weapon!
When’s a new ripmo coming out?
Soon
You can read on the diagram the 3 curves on the "Evo Mule concept" with 190mm read travel, beside the Slayer and altitude curves.
Fox +2022 crowns got 4 mm higher. This one looks differently. More like ext.
I'd assume we'd see a new Ripley at the same time.....no?
Some interesting stuff hanging on the wall. Likely the new Altitude on the far right which lines up with the previous (now private) video. Beside it are what looks like the current Instinct / Altitude frame with a penalty box. Perhaps the Instinct and Altitude will have different frames, or it could be a new Element? Then the blue frame with a seat stay brace and what looks like a shock tunnel matching the aluminum mule with a dual crown.
Seems like their mule could use different "main" pivots; one for an idler and one without (and you can see the resulting differences in motion ratio in the graph, with the idler system having slightly lower leverage in the first half of travel and a barely more progressive end behavior). Probably a solid chance we'll see the 'production concept' within a year or two.
You can also see an aluminum e-bike frame elsewhere in the video as well:
