They didn't dimension the other lip... it could be 6.5 mm wide. But not making dumb machine shop assumptions, it's approximately 36.5 mm wide on account of that 3.5 mm dimension actually being at a slight angle. I took the profile and traced it on my computer really quick. Going off the 30 mm dimension being correct, all the other dimensions are quite close to their callout. That's some next level rounding or just straight up making it up.

Well that math doesn't instill much confidence. 37mm must round up to 40mm...

I doubt anything is coming anytime soon. And I wouldn't expect it to become any less spire-ish. The whole reason the sentinel got a steeper STA and was able to be shifted back to being more on the "all-mountain side of enduro" in this most recent version was that when the last version was first released the spire hadn't launched...

And yet entirely in keeping with the overall industry ethos. My biggest initial reservation on ebikes was around their potential implications for access. Rules vary a lot and in their quest for sales I can't recall any company providing any sort of guidance on potential "ethics". I recall one manufacturer taking a fleet of Ebikes on a dealer demo past a "no motors" sign in Whistler..... The implication that users will self police themselves is naive at best and disingenuous at worst...

I heard a rumor that this new ebike from Specialized can toggle between class 1 and class 3. If true, this blatant disregard for land and recreation managers from one of the United States' biggest sellers is pretty sh*tty.

Funny Santa Cruz is like "VPP is holding us back on longer travel e-bikes, we have to move on" and Crestline's like "here's our 182mm VPP ebike!" Curious if Cascade is willing to comment on the Cruz' take or if they're a little too close to home to do so.

Bosch is dropping their embargo on the new motor on Monday. Get ready for a flood of new ebike launches for product you cannot buy for another 6 months.

No argument on needing to improve my maintenance routine...a lot of the on trail adjustments I make should totally be things done at home But it's still pretty often...probably most often is me tossing my multi tool to a buddy that needs it...then things link adjusting things after a crash, checking some bolts, adjusting seat height, adjusting b tension, tightening...

I think frame storage is too annoying to use for multitool storage. It's great for those items you don't need on every ride but are still nice to have with you such as a small pump or CO2, chain breaker, quick link, bacon strips, extra battery, emergency snack, tube, tire lever, etc. I prefer to run edc lite or similar...

I have heard the complete opposite from a geo perspective (steeper HTA). When the Sentinel came out, there was no Spire. Now there is the Spire so Transition can now make the Sentinel more of an "all mountain" bike and keep the Spire as their big enduro bike.

So many comments recently with people being overly pedantic about reach numbers. (Not just here). 10mm is literally nothing. Swap a 50mm and 40mm stem , get narrower or wider bars, try a different back sweep. Get thinner or thicker grips, bar roll stem spacers, adjust your cleat position etc. H ell, the hand position difference between single collar lock on grips and double collar probably changes your torso position as much. Reach is just one aspect of bike fit. Writing something off because the reach isn't exactly a perceived magic number by 10mm without trying it is very close...

Sorry, but you've gone too far stating: "It's also already won Proving Grounds last year and best trick at Darkest this year." I'm pretty sure the athlete won...not the bike.
