The trail bike category is probably where most people go shopping for a Goldilocks do-it-all bike, although the same could be said for the enduro category. With 150mm of travel and a generally light build, the Primer is Intense’s answer for those looking to cover some miles and enjoy themselves on the way down. The Primer was quietly updated for 2025, and we’ve had this new version out on the trails for about a month to help you figure out what it is and what it isn’t. 2025 Intense Primer 29 Highlights Full carbon fiber front and rear triangle...

lucythefin Added a reply to Advice on upgrading a new Giant Trance X 3 2022
9/25/2023 3:24am Sethimus has some good knowledge and advice on upgrading your groupset to maximize gains and spend as little as possible until you start wearing out components. Just upgrading levers and shifter would be the way to go for now. Your best bang for your buck upgrade that would make the most notable difference, lighten up the bike and make it...

9/25/2023 3:22am the only thing you gain with xt levers is the tool free range adjust and the free stroke screw that not really has any function. as you already have the br-mt420 you can easily upgrade to deore as they also don‘t use a banjo line. brake performance is exactly the same. those levers have about 10% more power than the mt401 you have, so you gain here. as you would with the xt shifters with the multirelease. upgrade smart, invest in gains, not perceived prestige/value. also get a custom tuned cartridge for your yari instead of a lyrik. same chassis...

9/24/2023 1:35am get a xt shifter so you have the better performance, keep the derailleur. if you want the servo wave levers, just upgrad to deore ones, keep the caliper. ride the cassette till worn. use saved money to buy better suspension. profit.

9/23/2023 11:55pm What do you want to accomplish with your upgrades? What notable differences in the way the bike rides are you hoping to distinguish from the components you have now? From looking at the components on your bike and what you are looking to upgrade to, it seems like you are just spending money to say you have nicer, more upscale...

9/15/2023 1:24pm I am on the smaller side, 5'6" maybe 5'7", riding their size 2 or Medium and seat tube is not slack at all, maybe if you are at the very end of their largest size, I wouldn't know tall people problems. At least comparable to all the other bikes I've owned and ridden recently. 2022 Transition Patrol, Sentinel, Spire, 2023...

8/21/2023 12:42pm I just recently built up a We Are One Arrival 170 and it is hands down the best bike I have ridden. I have only run it as a 170/170 29er, but it pedals, pumps, pops and picks up speed like the previous Transition Sentinel and new Smuggler I had before but at the same time it bombs and monster...

7/3/2023 3:56pm Would it be rude to point out that a substantial portion of the women mountain bikers I've encountered also would enjoy seeing the rear ends of women? I just think the entire complaint is so overblown.

6/26/2023 7:45pm The claim that it’s objectifying women is out the window when half the images are also dudes. That’s the point of mentioning that. The fact that it needs to be said explains why this thread even exists.

6/26/2023 7:44pm I read about half the comments. Seems like a good amount of you live in the woke bubble. I highly suggest you never watch South Park, your outrage might cause a heart attack. What’s even more ironic is that ad was the banner on top of this thread. It so barely sexual I can’t even understand why some of you are upset? Do you make your wives or girlfriends dress like pilgrims to avoid showing any skin and causing arousal? Half the butts are dudes. Go ride your bikes more.

6/19/2023 1:10pm Gauging participation based on what you see through your lived experience is an impossible data point to debate. There are many reason you may feel participation is lower in the female cohort than more rigorous studies have suggested, right on down to the fact that there is selection bias built in & we as humans are terrible at actually recalling anything close to something of statistical importance. Your rambling aside, the big underlying theme here is there are people in this thread that see men and women as being one in the same and those who acknowledge gender differences. Again...
