It’s runs like Kai’s that make me miss Rob Warner. These commentators are talking like Kai rides for Frameworks, when if they were on site or talked to enough riders and managers they would know he had to borrow Dedora’s FW bike because his bike broke during the flight to NY. If WB wants to tell stories and create drama, then it’s crazy to me how they miss little details like that.

another +1 for never ever bringing back protected status. everyone has the same poles to ride in between. stay on course, go fast, make a result. keep human judgement out of it. (still absolutely gutted for lachie)

The unfair advantage isn't that the line outside the pole is faster, it's that they failed to pull whatever move or line they were trying to do BEFORE that point and ended up unable to keep it on track. What you're suggesting basically equates to a rider being able to skip a tricky section of track just as long as going around a course marker isn't faster. Which would turn the actual course into nothing more than a suggested route of travel. "The idea that minor mistakes or falls completely erase a race run..." - well yeah. If you fail...

I think that says a lot about Jordan. I guess all he’s heard his entire career is that the guys beating him (Jackson and Finn) grew up riding WHISTLER and that he shouldn’t beat himself up about it. Even after all his success seems like he still has a bit of a monkey on his back. Not a criticism just an observation.

Our model is built around a roughly 30 rider structure for many reasons, including; Prize money: in year one we need to be conservative and ensure our prize money is impactful. If we spread it to thin it obviously dilutes this, Course: you can’t keep a course in top condition with too many riders. Course safety: while we are providing some easier options on big features, this course is still absolutely insane. Well that is clearly not going to happen next year, as the PDF states a total of 30 riders across both male and female categories. I wonder why so many people reference WB and the World Cups here. This is not a zero sum game. We are getting excellent World Cup racing, new Hardline tracks and now this series with huge prize money. If you don't see the value in paying to watch World Cups, don't. Just watched Ben Cathros round up of the race and he twice mentions MAIDEN wins, not DEBUT wins as Rick keeps saying on the commentary but apart from that error I have to really take my hat off to him and Beaumont for their commentary yesterday.. they real did increase their hype for the last 10 and helped build some excitement. Beaumont has really steadied the ship in my opinion. And Rick deserves a lot of credit for not letting the criticism destroy his confidence

I don't think this has anything to do with environmental protection but instead the organisation of the event. Do you guys not remember how often course marshalls were busy fixing the tape when a racer missed a line and went through it during practice? Or how often tape got wrapped in a wheel and dragged with the rider for the remainder of the run? This is actually something I brought up in a convo (on instagram maybe). I'm not sure if they do it now but they need to make scoring more transparent. You should visibly get a score in each 'category' from trick level to amplitude to execution to style to line difficulty, whatever, and it should ADD UP to a total score. AFAIK that is how the scoring currently works but they do not show the breakdown. I also think... I wondered that too. Fmb are in a tough position with Kaos tagging along and everyone else being a bit up & down to put it politely. Combined with the desperation move of Maes putting a floating brake arm on the rear end of the bike. Snailbeach is in Shropshire, England. Shropshire being home to many DHers before nearby mid/north Wales became the spot. Even our muchly improved Neil Beaumont comes from the area. And let's not forget Pearce Cycles, Dave, Lyndsey and all they have done for mountain biking.
