Couldn't agree more, so many people getting angry about misinformation and conjecture. World Cup racing has been in flux since it's inception. This is just the next change in a long line of changes. Seems to me that the main source of anger on the forums and comments sections is that it's no longer "free" to watch DH racing. But for those of use who have paid to watch the DH racing (especially the womens) has been some of the best ever. What I gather from this forum is that the World Cup should be free to enter for anyone...

I'm with the comments, if only a photographer or two could go around the pits doing 30s interviews, then they could play them over their photos in some kind of slideshow. If they have nice photos but no audio, then just play the same muzak track for about 15 years. I can't believe no one has tried this before.

I know this forum gets used for discussing things like who is on form and whatnot but how good is that first off-camber grassy bit in the DH race?!?! I love it, seeing riders navigate that has been an absolute treat and I love having a section like that in a WC race

I don't agree. Which is fine. We haven't had riders who qualified 60-30 on TV since freecaster days. So actually hard to remember..but I do recall a lot of sloppy riding that wasn't very interesting. But everyone has their own reasons to tune in. As for actually spectating at the races. The difference between 30 or 60 men on the hill for a one hour practice session is peanuts. I don't see it as an argument. And according to people who've been to a world cup this year the new quali-semi combo makes for a jam packed day of spectating...

?? The 5min gaps for the top 10 plus protected riders give the broadcast the ability to show full runs.

I think the issue is with lack of feeder series, which at least in the US seems to be growing. I just dont think the best way to get to the top of the sport is to try to qualify for the premier elite class for 5 years until you are good enough to qualify. You could have qualifiers. For example: Top 10 amateur's at the windrock national in their respective class earn the opportunity to qualify at a world cup or something to that effect basically.
