11/27/2025 4:59pm The hard part not noticing the difference between different levels of Maven is that SRAM’s build quality and consistency is so bad it’s difficult to know what you’re actually comparing.

11/27/2025 10:10am Well I feel offended now
I'm not American, however I do indeed live in the USA at the moment. Lots of the places in the world however require you to get to the trailhead somehow and not all of us are blessed with local trails right outside your door - or good public transportation that would allow bikes -...

11/26/2025 9:37pm With mavens in my opinion is either SLV/ULT or nothing I like having the bite point adjuster to tune them, they can be too aggressive otherwise I did not like the bronze but I do like the silvers

11/26/2025 10:29am It depends on the system you’re riding. Some range extenders only trickle-charge the main battery, but others can run the bike by themselves. On our setup, the range extender can act as a standalone power source, so riding with just the extender is no problem. It’s a nice option if you want a lighter bike for a quick lunch ride.

11/26/2025 10:26am Yes. I don't care about the size as long as it does its job. I would appreciate a GaN or whatever the technology called for the smaller ones, but don't really care since a/ the SUV I take on the trips is large enough, and b/ generator (anker solix f1500, 1500wh battery) is also large so the charger size does...

11/26/2025 10:22am You're very entitled to your own opinion, but I didn't hear the same contradictions you did. I've re-listened multiple times this morning and I still can't hear it the way you have. I heard Markus say they knew they were facing tough times but weren't expecting the PE firm to get to a point where they aren't willing to inject cash. The Fire Sale was an effort to get through that specific period without having to ask for more cash. That failed and then they were told 'no more'. As for your previous point, it's not exactly clear to me...

11/25/2025 10:26pm We have a solution for you! We now have the 3.1 Smart Charger for Levo 4's that will charge your 840Wh battery from 0 to 80% in under an hour. That's plenty of time to slam a few taco's and head back to the trails.

11/25/2025 7:15pm yeah, Spec and Amflow went in a right direction providing 700w and 500w chargers. I just wish it was even faster.

11/25/2025 6:20pm When will e-bike companies provide us with adequate chargers? Something that can charge an 500wh ebike in half an hour or so will alleviate most issues with range for us weekend warriors doing laps after laps. We can plug that baby in while snacking between the runs and replenish the battery somewhat.

11/25/2025 2:07pm Thanks for the math award. I don’t even practice so it’s double nice. We are also very handsome here on the messageboards. That bike is super dumb looking.

11/25/2025 10:38am If your definition of making money in a cushy fashion is 4 days work for minus £40 and comments like this, then I must be that hanger on using mountain bikers for my benefit. Just to be clear, this was my decision to do this interview and I'm not unhappy about doing that at my cost. YT just covered the bulk of the travel to enable us to do it in-person, which I think provides not only a better quality audio and video experience for you all, but also makes the conversation flow better. This doesn't in any way change...

11/25/2025 10:37am Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

11/21/2025 2:58pm Regarding 30-60-90 day credit terms on components, the bike brands that we know often don't buy directly from component suppliers, instead the assembly factory purchases parts using their creditworthyness with the component manufacturers. An assembly factory may then extend credit to the brand. Less frequently (though not infrequently) bike brands import frames and assemble locally (you mentioned YT did this), this can save them from holding a depreciating inventory of components by acquiring them just in time, and it can allow them to offer multiple build levels or model years based on whatever frames they have available. There have been...

11/21/2025 1:54pm I think it’s pretty clear Markus will say anything he thinks is will help him. Doing it is a diffirent story. forgot to say really enjoyed the pod. You guys kept it light. With just enough of classic team robot to keep me interested. Jeff’s insight was fantastic. Really looks like essentially yt has only ever grown thru big investments that never turned into profits. And every opportunity to profit has been spent on the look of being successful. If Marcus had half a brain he’d rebuild himself on the German market on a small scale and wait for the...

11/20/2025 12:39pm just wanted to reply to @casey79 from a day or two ago regarding media outlets avoiding the topic b/c of future ad dollars. hopefully the podcast we posted addresses your thoughts about that and vital. some things take time to sort out properly. on the flipside though, that's why i love our community here...everyone is reporting things in near real-time and there is a huge talent pool of expertise to offer insights/info/opinion for any viewer to see. fwiw (not that it really matters), our ad agreement was with YT USA only apparently (just learned that yesterday).
