5/7/2026 3:48pm The telepathy bike has about 30mm of rearward movement at sag. It's designed with an axle path meant to mimic the fork's axle path and maintain a constant wheelbase. Haven't ridden it, so can't say if they're onto something there. I had a 1st gen Canfield Jedi. I think that thing had around 25mm rearward movement at sag. It cornered weird and jumped weird, but I eventually got used to it. I don't think the benefits outweighed the downsides though. There's no way that RMU bike has 30mm rearward travel at sag though. I think that's just some random marketing...

5/4/2026 9:30am Eeww! I got a pretty good one for you. So I'm converting my old homemade 26" DH bike to 27.5" to give to a friend's son. (If the son ever gets it away from his father...) It's a second gen Santa Cruz Bullit swing arm on a steel front end. It's got modern geometry from before it's time. The drawing says "Atherton style." because they were the only ones doing long, low and slack at the time. I'm just making new bolt on dropouts to fit the bigger wheels and we'll put a 27.5" fork on it. So today I...

5/1/2026 10:00pm So glad there aren’t a bunch of other parts on bikes with those issues!

4/28/2026 5:46pm Had a real dumb one today. Had some noise somewhere on the front of the bike. Kept stopping trying to find it but couldn’t feel anything wrong and couldn’t get the sound to go off the bike. Turns out the cap for the air valve on the fork was a half turn loose. Boy did I feel stupid once I figured it out. And of course proceeded to destroy my derailleur next run so I actually had a problem then.

4/27/2026 11:59pm Yeah, go ahead and put a 29 x 2.3 tire on a 700c road bike. Hell go try to put a 45C tire on a road bike. Hell some road bikes won’t even clear a 32. I don’t know what the hell you guys are trying to say but you’re wrong and it has nothing to do with the fact...

4/27/2026 11:56pm I trust that after this you’ll go ahead and switch back to a 26 inch bike. The reason people keep reinventing the wheel is because we keep finding better ways to make bikes.

4/27/2026 4:14pm Road bikes are stuck in the stone age due to UCI restrictions and nothing more. Without them they would look completely different. They probably have bigger wheels for sure.

4/27/2026 11:53am Would love to see a Camber but from what specialized is telling dealers the non-evo epic saw way better sell through. Surprising to me, but I guess xc is hot right now.

4/27/2026 7:07am Epic 9 looks about like I expected. I’ll bet it’s a better XC race bike than the E8. Having said that, I’m glad I bought a E8 Evo as its probably a better all around bike for what I do and I like the in frame storage.

4/26/2026 11:24am Sounds like they have lightened the E8 frame quite a bit. No Swat box—rumored bolt-on garage. No EE version.

4/26/2026 9:49am Kinda like this. Epic ht, wc, epic, and ee were all scrunched together. Consolidating opens room to do more interesting things with HT and EE

4/22/2026 9:51am Turns out 8nm is pretty damn tight for that little nut so you are probably more right than wrong there. After my initial failures I checked the wrench setting a couple times just to make sure I wasn't about to strip out the damn thing as it just kept turning. Yet to pop out a piston, but the SRAM piston massage video hints that pistons may pop out as you push others back in. They're all "don't worry just bleed the brake if this happens" as if it wouldn't totally bust someones trip or weekend.
