3/19/2026 6:51am I know this is dangerously close to a chainstay derail, but I love that Forbidden made a 120mm bike with a 464mm chainstay in the XL size. That's real long, but if you don't like it you can buy literally any other XL lightweight 120mm bike. Curious how it rides. Could be sick. [Editor's note: I THINK THIS COUNTS AS AN INNOVATION]

3/18/2026 3:06pm Considering it only has a spot for one water bottle it makes total sense for it to have internal storage. I don't do a single ride without 750ml of water in my frame storage. It's literally the ideal spot to add that type of weight for the bike's handling. It's very freeing to do a 3hr ride with no pack. Most other XC/DC bikes have a spot for a 2nd bottle so the weight is already there (in a worse spot) if you're on a big ride. It's wild to me how many people have gaslighted themselves into believing that...

3/17/2026 10:19pm You're an amateur. I carry a ton of tools, but every other year or so something goes so horribly wrong I STILL have to walk back to the car. Bikes are pretty good though. My proudest trailside repair was actually roadside...blew a shifter cable 40 miles from home on a cold February day on my gravel bike. I had an extra cable in my little revelate gas tank bag. Fixed it, rode home.

3/16/2026 8:58am I’d say pick where you want your tire to truly excel. If you ride serious slabs pokies may not be your jam, but if you are on high consequence skidders often you’ll love the pokie effect. Overall I’d say these types of tires suffered from the assumptions that they would be squirmy or something, but the reality is that they...

3/16/2026 8:53am I look at it as ratio of rider size to gyroscopic effect. Smaller riders are more in the bike and the gyroscopic effect of the wheels contributes more stability to the system. 32” will push this relative stability up into larger sized bikes.

3/15/2026 7:09pm I agree with you it's how many sports are regulated, but I also hope that isn't where downhill & xc are headed yet. Imagine if we were all still on 26 wheels with a 410mm size L reach with quick release wheels because that was the regulation from 20 years ago. Obviously there is a line, but I hope the governing body doesn't draw that line too soon. I hope there's a more open ruleset, for now, because of the innovation happening in the sport, even though we may not all agree on some of it (headset routing for example)...

3/13/2026 6:45pm eebs came online the same time grav did. we want the sport to grow but a lot of new riders see rocks on a trail and wonder why the trail builders didn't smooth them over. new eeb riders with a strava heatmap can get themselves into a lot of trouble...

3/13/2026 3:03pm Ever watched any sport ever? How they are full of people born with qualities that make them especially good at their sport? You think the top pros don’t have a better baseline than your neighbor? Sports have ALWAYS rewarded athletes who have natural predisposition for their sport. Look at the inverse, sports that favor smaller riders. Hell, talk to a...
