4/1/2026 3:26pm Yeah, I didn't know they'd released an "EVO" model, either. Apparently "We're not releasing an EVO model for this Stumpy, ever" means "We're not releasing an EVO model for this Stumpy anytime in the next 2-4 months."

3/31/2026 11:04am I do not believe the rumors about chisels and epic evos being done. Specialized straight up lied when they released the stumpy 15, saying they were not going to release an Evo. A rep let slip that they were saving the moniker for “something special” but “official sources” kept saying “oh no no stumpy Evo just a stumpy from here...

3/28/2026 7:45pm Back at it again with my horrendous image measurements, this time something actually bicycle related. I took the shock eye to eye of 225mm and zoomed in super close to align it to the centre of the shock bolts and scaled the image until the measurement was exactly 225. I drew a line to the middle of the shimano crank spindle and the middle of the rear thru-axle (also zoomed in until my eyes were bleeding to estimate the centre as best as possible). I then measured the horizontal distance between the two points (used construction lines to make this...

3/20/2026 10:22pm Nah. Top tube straight continuous to seat stays is very 2020. Now it’s all about the grasshopper. Steep down tube to low flat chainstay. And I’m all for it. Maybe your right, straight line is industrial design where grasshopper, is sex. as long as no one does steeper chainstays than top tube. 🤮

3/20/2026 5:22pm Listen I know it’s pedantic but there is a big difference between moving the BB forward vs moving the pivots backward. When you look at the overlay it’s clear to me that they are adding material behind the seat tube to get the pivots further back. I suppose you could say they are moving the BB and seat tube forward...

3/20/2026 10:34am FWIW, a few years ago there were many enduro bikes that were, overall, longer than DH bikes. Maybe DH bikes caught up now, but there's logic to enduro bikes being longer. They have to fit you seated, pedalling, DH bikes don't need this. So the cockpits can be shorter mostly because they don't need to be as long. Also long bikes, I'm beginning to rethink long reaches more and more and I'd love to test a few things for taller riders as well, sadly I'm not there riding quantity wise (or parts availability)...

3/20/2026 10:33am I think he’s right though based on this overlay from Forbidden’s site (assuming a similar approach as their high pivots). I think they just adjust the actual STA to be steeper on larger sizes to compensate and keep eSTA consistent. Also, speaking from a more financially practical POV (especially in this risky bike market) I assume they would want to have as many shared parts as possible for economies of scale, so knowing the front triangles are all different it’s likely everything else on the frame is size agnostic.

3/19/2026 11:44pm That seems insane. Doesn’t that change effective seat tube angle?

3/19/2026 10:02am Honestly, the Reya is the first XC bike that I really, really want to try as a 6'3" individual. I feel like that jack nichelson nodding meme as I work my way down the geo chart on the XL. Edit: Can we also agree that peak bike industrial design is a straight top tube that aligns directly with the seat tube... connecting the top of the head tube to the rear axle with an un-interrupted straight line?

3/19/2026 7:59am A few points that I consider: if you follow the fc/rc convos most riders who are saying they need a longer CS are taller riders. The debate has mostly ended up with a desire for proportional stays, not necessarily longer stays overall. I think that mediums tend to ride pretty darn well from what I hear, and I think the...

3/19/2026 6:51am I know this is dangerously close to a chainstay derail, but I love that Forbidden made a 120mm bike with a 464mm chainstay in the XL size. That's real long, but if you don't like it you can buy literally any other XL lightweight 120mm bike. Curious how it rides. Could be sick. [Editor's note: I THINK THIS COUNTS AS AN INNOVATION]

3/18/2026 3:06pm Considering it only has a spot for one water bottle it makes total sense for it to have internal storage. I don't do a single ride without 750ml of water in my frame storage. It's literally the ideal spot to add that type of weight for the bike's handling. It's very freeing to do a 3hr ride with no pack. Most other XC/DC bikes have a spot for a 2nd bottle so the weight is already there (in a worse spot) if you're on a big ride. It's wild to me how many people have gaslighted themselves into believing that...
