10/11/2026 11:45pm The wider the tire, the more you stand to gain by making the rim aero. No reason to give up on aero cos the tire is wide.

10/11/2026 11:42pm Most bikes you see people on here are long travel enduro. That will be the next bike I buy. There is a market.

10/11/2026 11:41pm I think the depression of the current market may work to Specializes advantage. Specifically in the marketing side of things. Right now a lot of hard core people look at enduro bikes and shrug their shoulders because 140-150mm travel frames can be customized to take such a beating. But everyone outside of this hardcore label with money will eat up Specialized marketing. That their Enduro bike will be 10 years in the making. They will advertise this thing as the second coming of Jesus for the enduro genre. It will be a new beast, unlike the old generation of enduro...

10/8/2026 7:55am I thought the gabao ecvt was lighter than the pinion mgu by over a lb? Pinion bikes did need an extra 200ish w of battery power, because of the drag, to equal current motor/der/ battery systems but the newer semi solid state batteries more than make up for that. Is low 50's for bike weight exceptable? The lowest pinion mgu i saw was 50, with careful part selection but real tires, but most were 55+/-

10/8/2026 7:53am The fact they didn’t use a 780 Era bar and cut an 800 sucks to see. Would have liked to see the data on that

10/8/2026 7:45am Well, don't forget the comments a page or two back about career ending crashes due to chains breaking. belt would be less likely to break, too.

10/8/2026 7:37am Genie Zeb sounds like a RS implementation of Manitou's IRT, Chickadeehill's whatever's cart, Diaz's Runt, etc. A dual-chamber setup with two different pressures.

9/29/2026 3:32pm https://www.paulcomp.com/shop/components/hubs/rear-hubs/fixed-boost-dis… Fixed gear dirt riding got a lot safer once I got a rear brake. My dream is an owning a Starling Beady Little Eye that I can try riding as a fixie. Being able to ride a diversity of bikes is an underappreciated skill. At the risk of telling people what to do, I think everyone should be able to, at a minimum, ride a hardtail. The number of riders who can’t ride a hardtail is flabbergasting. And as you pointed out, you just adapt your mindset for each bike and each ride. Mixing it up this way makes...

9/28/2026 12:40pm I have to ride a lot “lighter” and make sure to take better lines on lighter tires. It is difficult though to find that sweet spot of fast and durable. My trade off is that I need these types of bikes to have fast frickin tires so it mean I have to respect the casing a bit more.

9/28/2026 12:38pm I agree that the hardest part is adjusting the mindset to match the bike’s capabilities. The basket helps remind me what bike I’m on, and I usually wear sandals on this bike.

9/28/2026 12:37pm Ohhhhh, yes! Mine is a Kona Unit that has accepted all the various superseded parts off enduro bikes gone past, with the exception of Schwalbe g-one speed tires. 2.0” with micro texture tread, they actually do a damn good job on everything that isn’t real loose or wet. Bumping around on the fully rigid makes the Bronson such a delight. I lovingly call the Kona my road bike, and it brings me such joy to pass roadies on a climb (and then be slayed on the pavement descent.)

9/28/2026 12:37pm Put the rigid fork back on my Cotic Solaris Max this weekend. Have a nice mixed ride coming up in a few weeks. I always tear or puncture XC weight tires, I'm tired of replacing them every time I want to go gravelling. Can anyone recommend some fast rolling rubber in the 2.3 range that will survive some light singletrack? I've got Spec renegades in there now, but had to put a toob in the rear, then flatted the tube yesterday . . . .
