Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think swapping wheels and tires matters more than swapping bikes. I'd rather pedal a reasonably efficient enduro bike on light wheels with trail casings than a downcountry bike on DH casings. And the gap between an enduro on lighter tires and a downcountry on trail tires just isn't big enough to justify a second bike — especially since I'm never on XC trails. I used to run a shorter-travel trail bike alongside the enduro. Now I just have the one bike — 170 front / 160 rear — and two wheelsets.

Was it Jeff and Charlie who talked about push on grips in their podcast or was it bikes unaffiliated podcast? Anywho, if you mount your push on grips with beer, they're not coming off. At least not easily.

I believe it's the drive side that moves over 9mm because the change in width is on the drive side due to the slimmer driver. For example, the One Up 157 hub has a left flange distance of 35 and a right flange distance of 26. These become equal (35) with the XD Slim. According to Hope, their 148 DH hub has a L/R flange distance of 28.5 - https://www.hopetech.com/_repository/1/documents/Pro5_PCD_J_Bend_2025.p… So while only a few mm, it will make a difference in the wheel strength.

Ok, so here's a test case for you. I'm biking with some buddies. We're not young, but we're a long way from the adult-diaper stage of our lives. We're stopped and 2 of them walk off behind trees to relieve themselves, and I joke with them that they need to start wearing diapers. Almost every add popping up in Google for the next month or so is for adult diapers. Could be some crazy coincidence, but it seems like a scene from the HBO series Succession - "We're listening."

I’m thinking about starting a new poll thread. It will be called “would you rather” The options will be: Would you rather take the time to actually read and learn about “ecvt’s” in regards to bikes? Orrrrrrrr…. Would you rather smash up an incandescent light bulb and smash the shards into your eyeballs? This thread is getting exhausting with gearbox nerds.
