I’m sorry, if we can’t get mountain bikers to use “loam” correctly, I don’t think you’ve got a chance of educating the masses on “flickable”.

Man I’m shocked at the discussion this thing is generating. This bike looks GREAT

Personally I can see both sides of this. I think flip chips and other sorts of an adjustment are great in that they add further options in terms of democratizing bikes. They can in theory allow two different people seeking different things to ride the same bike, or for a bike to be used for multiple disciplines (trail vs bike park or that kind of thing). Adjusting the reach or wheel size could also allow people of different dimensions to both feel comfortable on the same bike. All of this said, I feel like the flip chips and other adjustments...

Torrent is clean. Bottle rocket is adjustable freeride. Quake is a capable race geo. (Iirc) Different bikes for different folks . I freeride and park my race bikes - and xc ride my enduro bike. But the world does seem to want FUN 27.5 park bikes and the racers do seem to want FAST DH WEAPONS. Why can’t we have both? The marketing isn’t even for us. There are literally armies of 15 year old boys AND GIRLS! Getting really into modern freeride, just riding down shit and off shit and being park rats in jnco jeans where I live...

I came back to check in and let everybody know that I figured out what flickable means. I am pretty sure that it means something like the feeling of standing on the rear pegs of a BMX bike and feeling the whole front end sort of flick around the pivot point of the rear wheel. Of course, on a mountain...
Waaaaaaay less. Way way way less. I think that’s less to do with weight distribution and more to do with body position. You don’t need to drape yourself over the front wheel to keep it down, you can just stand up and keep a pretty neutral body position.

Seems like taller folks COG wouldn’t get pulled forward of the BB if stack increased proportionally with reach per frame size.

Think I triumphed over AI with some simple word searches, but the clock's ticking on that victory. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1749364241/magnetic-ski-bike-car-mount-hea… Also, one of the images in this listing needs to be seen. Should we start a separate thread solely to discuss everything that's going on? And absolutely not hating on this thing. I love that they're people out there building up weird things like this.

I have a “fun” one. Got an ultrasonic cleaner last week to go with my new waxing regime, time to clean everything! I had a couple hours and figured I could settle in for some meditative bike maintenance. I’d pulled my cassette (Garbaruk XD 12 speed) and the cleaning cycle was almost done when my wife was home early from some cancelled plans- and now my available time evaporated. Pulled the now sparkling cassette out (ziplock with purple Simple Green, half hour at 70C, chefs kiss) and was rushing to reassemble everything (with a new waxed chain on too.) Cassette...

in my search for "downcountry" tires, i found good deals on some specialized tires. Going to try an eliminator t9 (im familiar with the tread pattern as a back tire) on the front and a purgatory t7 on the back, both the light grid casing. Will report back once i get some miles on them.

I want long chainstays on all bikes except BMX and Dirt jump bikes or trials bikes. For mtb it's better at climbing and keeps the bike more balanced.
