Ha, literally staring at my full cart right now. Been on a Kavenz for 4 seasons, now that the Smartshift Pinion is available I think I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on a gearbox bike.

New Kavenz VHP G2 pre-order just opened for email subscribers. Looks like you can choose any of their rear travel options and it uses the same interchangeable rear dropouts. Also, has a pinion smart shift option

For the rest of world: It has been a bonkers year here in the southern Alps, we had a really late massive snowfall in Spring, tand it stayed cool enough until summer. Then came one of the hottest summers on record, the meditarranean sea was at about 30 degrees all of august here in France, a good 5 degrees (celcius), hotter than usual, temperatures wouldn't go down at night. Then 2 weeks ago massive storms rolled through and we dropped from 30 degrees at night to 15 degrees. So all in all very extreme and quite unpredictable weather in this...

When it comes to derailleur cages, there really is only one way to do things. Two pulley wheels on an arm. If I’m not mistaken our cage is the only one where the structural arm traverses from the outside of the upper pulley to the inside of the lower pulley. We wanted it to at least be different in some way. Kogel cages maybe look more similar for what it’s worth. The reason this annoys me, though, is we developed a novel chain guide a few years ago. The design is actually patented in the US. That design was copied...

Damn guys, when I see how many frames/parts you're going through, I understand why some bikes companies have gone bankrupt hahaha On my side I've had only a frame warranty over the last 2 years. It was on a 2018 Al Canyon Spectral (cracked on both side where the seatstays connect to the links due to bad alignment i guess). I've only good things to say about their CS (at least the one based in France/Europe). After sending them my request + photos, they agreed on the warranty without further questions and proposed me a 2021 CFR frame (so full...

I am NOT an e-MTB guy, but e-DH makes an awful lot of sense. I'd much rather have folks self-shuttle with pedal assist. I've seen a guy at Glorieta on one of the long-travel Pole e-bikes. Seemed like a good use case.

I actually download the enduro mag app to read about it. Looks like a sweet bike. I dont get why manufacture's aren't producing DH ebikes. This makes so much more sense then a 130 ebike. I want to ride my shuttle trails on these and not shuttle. Maybe that would be to much like a moto 😱 with a dual crown and coil shock + a full face.

Only a minor one with Ohlins. Had a 640 spring that was rubbing hard enough on the shock body to feel it on deep compressions. They immediately shipped me a new spring free of charge and made sure it solved the issue.

I’m seeing GX-level builds with unspecified derailleurs in my embargoed crystal ball… I haven’t seen anything about it in the orb, but I’m really hoping the X0 tier survives in a cable actuated format as well.
