8/5/2026 9:59pm Pretty sure they are pulling out of the gravity side, still making road and XC shoes. I just ordered 2 pairs of the 2FO Roost flats, had to order from 2 shops as each only had 1 in my size left. Got a couple partially used pairs at home. They are so much better than Freerider pro for me. Gonna suck having to find a new shoe when my supply runs out.

8/5/2026 12:39pm https://www.bikeradar.com/news/add-weight-go-faster-orange-bucks-the-li… WHATS OLD IS NEW AGAIN. Chris Porter has been not-so-secretly adding weights to world cup DH bikes since the early 2010s, apparently. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=myFJTO8mdtw Then there's this from nearly a decade ago, TLDR Stott and Porter find that weights make average Joe's faster, but not his hand selected Pro riders (at least for this track)

7/27/2026 12:13pm I should have specified that building between the Hope hub and the Oneup hub the 4mm would be lost in the noise. There are other factors at play with wheel systems one of which is the PCD, which hope has the leg up on with a larger PCD resulting in shorter spokes, which helps with the bracing angle and in general, shorter spokes = stiffer wheel. If you run the numbers between the oneup hub and the pro5 you gain 10% in lateral stiffness with less radial and torsional stiffness, ~3%. Overall wheel strength when looking at the combined metrics...

7/9/2026 12:42pm I could give this a go, would back to back race sim laps be enough to provide accurate results? At least in a way that it is consistently one way or the other?

6/24/2026 1:04pm Angel gets a paycheck, gets to keep racing, and I would imagine helps with developing the next Aventon ebike. What's the problem?

6/10/2026 1:15am (Cross-post from the Bike Economics thread; if people don't think it's relevant to this thread, I'll delete it) My friend (- owner of a small chain of bike shops) just told me that, a couple of days ago, Trek informed their dealerships that there's going to be a lot of change in their product line-up in the near future. Apparenly Trek is discontinuing a bunch of models, including the Session, Slash, Remedy and Top Fuel. The way the announcement was worded makes it seem like there's no direct plans for updates or replacement models for any of them, they'll simply...

6/8/2026 12:19am Yesterday I spoke with a guy who rode a couple of EDRs and would always ride xtr mech since forever but he was on a sram. He said not only the chain slap was unbearable on the new di2 xtr but he would also drop chains pretty much daily, to the extend the top of his crank which cought the chain became all scratched... The shifting was absolutely amazing but the reliability is horrible and he also noticed shimano sponsored enduro pros would run full dh chain tensioners or STFUs just to keep the chain on, which is mindboggling how...

6/7/2026 10:10pm You are correct, thanks for making mention before I could catch up in this thread. On longer climbs I would take the chain off but most times I just wouldn't care to. The bigger problem was the chain length in my largest rear cog when using the lower guide, only a problem during climbing though. The system was great while descending. But I just run the ochain now instead of the lower guide because it's manages the chain whipping and is less faff.

6/3/2026 2:26pm As someone who, for 20+ years, got at least 1 new bike every year, I haven’t purchased a new bike in almost 3 years. I feel like 90% of bikes in the last 5 or so years have been great. So much so, that I’m actually considering buying the last gen Norco Optic as my next trail bike. Coming into 2026 I was convinced I would get a “New” full suspension frame this year. While I’m sure I’d be happy with the new Tallboy, Reya, or Ranger, it’s hard to justify the $$$$ for a new frame when I can...
