You see, we all want to avoid launching our new products at Sea Otter and being lost in the noise, so we all launch our new products the week before......wait a minute....

I can say the event was super well run and had a great vibe. Both Nico and Clay are doing a great job and Monster is stepping up big. I am hoping the momentum continues as I though it was all great.

Really hoping the Monster DH Series takes off- looks like a great start so far. Next year bring one to Colorado/Mountain West and I'll come support!

So good! Question for everyone: Do you dig the '17 Questions' format? I always enjoyed them growing up, but that was back when getting more insight into your favorite racers/industry peeps wasn't as easy as it is now. They don't do very well on the Toob, which doesn't really matter, but I'm still curious if people are fans of the format.

"Dampener" is the equivalent of putting your fork on backwards. We owe these people a heads up. Whether they choose to listen is their choice. And yes, this is a real image from an issue of Men's Health.

“Dampener” is the verbiage equivalent of counting clicks from open and helmets with removable chin bars.

Tried to install one of these on my fork, but ended up taking it to a shop. This is a tough installation if you don’t know what you’re doing…

Don't be sad. I struggle to wrap my head around inflation too. Sometimes I find it helpful to recalibrate like this: Adjusted for inflation the MSRP of a 2012 Sworks Stumpjumper FSR would be $2,494.63 more than the MSRP of a 2024 Sworks Stumpjumper FSR. Adjusted for inflation the MSRP of the most affordable 2012 FSR would be $748.51 more than the MSRP of their most affordable 2024 full suspension. i.e. prices have actually fallen, over 20%; while bikes have certainly improved, significantly. There are still big innovations like what I'm doing, or Lal, Trust, or ebikes; and there were...

Something that also doesn't translate well across the Atlantic is our use of highly offensive words as terms of endearment: in Scotland, if you think highly of someone, it is more than acceptable to describe them as a "good c**t". Unlike a bike company executive who signed off on headset cable routing, who may instead be referred to as a "bit of a c**t". Context is everything.

Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

Just seen something that I think sums up the industry right now… take a look at the spelling of brakes on Chain reaction’s relaunched website 😂 https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/bike-parts

And if we loop in 50 posts about how much strain our fingers will endure with Lewis' brake levers, we'll have come full circle. My damper is dampening with excitement.
