E13 Sidekick rear hub and OChain... floatin. Charlie (practical an old soul by today's MTB standards now) summed it the best in his last sentence: it’s a great time to ride mountain bikes. So good to be alive and getting on any bike these days (compared to when we had to deal with elastomers, front deraileurs and cantilever brakes when I came into the scene...and URT as my first ever FS bike..sheesh)

My problem with OChain is that its not expensive enough. It needs an electronic lockout that connects to my ANT+ power meter to know when I'm pedalling and when I'm coasting. Or maybe a built in accelerometer so it knows if I'm pointed uphill or downhill. Whatever makes it more expensive.

Theres definitely no simple answer - but all of those variables depend on each other, and each has pros and cons so it comes down to the priority you have when designing the damper. A key thing to keep in mind with all of it is pressure balance and the way the pressure builds inside the damper. There is a delay between the shaft moving and the pressure in the chamber increasing and the high speed circuit won't start working until there is a certain amount of pressure in front of it. worst. idea. ever. hope it's not true. just more risk for some riders. DH is not moto, it's not F1, they're not racing against competitors on the same track at the same time. if 20 finalists is "the best tv show" for the numbers to make sense, then just leave it at that. we'll all be upset for a year or two about how it's not like the old days, lick our wounds and riders will either try to compete for top 20 or regional/national series will become more populated. i can't even imagine the cost to put on a...

Specialized and Canyon have added a connecting rod or horst joint, call it what you want but they are copying Ancillotti's PullShock system. And it seems to work considering the results

I don't know the bloke at all but from what you see on social media he looks like he's committed to his kids racing rather than his and fair enough...he's got nothing left to prove to anyone . The level at world cup DH is so high now and with the format that unless you have some chance of making at least the semis I'm not sure it would be worth it from a sponsors point of view , but if a bike manufacturer gave Sam hill a bike and some money and made a few videos every year of...
