hey awesome bike! im taking inspiration from this for the pitch im building one question tho how did you fit that back wheel is it a thru axle and is that fork a tapered or straight steerer.

the back wheel is a 135 qr, no thru axle in this bike. The qr is one from BBB that bolts using a hexkey instead of using a qr lever. the forks where originaly tapered, but I changed the CSU to a straight steerer model

I love these things. They were actually super long reach for the time, about as long as the "forward geometry" mondrakers that came out like 4 years after these. One of the few bikes I'd happily ride from back then.

Cool bike!!! I rented a pitch many years ago while in Colorado on a family vaca. The bike was great! I'd never heard of the model at the time and I was realky surprised how fun it was. Nice retro build.

Thanks man, that means a lot coming from you. I spent around 2000€ on this build. For some time I wandered if I would buy a new bike, or restore a old one with potential. I’m very pleased with my decision. I learned a lot about bikes during this build, and felt a sense of accomplishment that I wouldn’t get with just buying a new bike.

The reach actually gets a little bit shortened in this build because of the angleset, the offset bushings and the longer fork, but it’s still quite good for the period

Thanks man. I made the hole little bigger using a small file. Than used a rubber hole cover from jagwire to make it look a little neater.

I was just thinking about routing the dropper post cable internally through the screw hole on the down tube and here you are had it done already. Did you need to enlarge the hole or the cable just fit right in? any special fixture?
