I've got a few things that come to mind scrolling these pics, and I'm curious what others think - Is Shimano off the back because they aren't introducing wireless/electronic Saint when SRAM just launched XX DH AXS? I get that some peeps don't like electronics, but XX DH is the obvious comparison to make, and it seems like Shimano is setting themselves up to be at a disadvantage when you consider ease of setup, clean cockpit look. No clutch. Di2 XT/XTR have racked up a reputation for being loud and dropping chains at the chainring since they seem to cause...

Amazing race, amazing day. Went way beyond the expectations. Best sport ever…

After watching world cups for years it was a total treat to get to whiteness it in person. Took the gondola up and walked down the course stopping to spectate any chance we could get. What a race, what a venue and what a crowd. Hearing the roar come down the mountain with each rider was something special.

Super cool to have a WC DH so close to home. The crowd showed up and made it pretty special.

Some quick pit snaps from this morning. It’s mixed/sun clouds so far today. I chatted with Gwinny and he said the muds getting thick on track. The sun is helping the bits in the open dry out/roll faster, but a lot of the woods is constantly evolving. Everyone seems to have the attitude of “time to see how this goes!” Going into Q1 Haha Lot of ppl running uncut spikes. Trek running a mix of HR3 F/R, and Assegai/DHR2. I’ll be doing more posting to Vital’s Insta stories the rest the day, so check there for continued updates.

Yeah this almost deserves it's own thread, Mert is one of THE greats and made a huge contribution to the mountain bike world that most people probably don't realise these days. On Any Sunday still holds up as one of the greatest sports movies ever, and the opening shot of Mert walking down the street with a suit then smash cuts to onboard footage of his flattrack racer is brilliant. RIP

regarding the neko / specialized thing...... IIRC that connection is because the rental fleet at Kanuga is all Specialized

Asa signed for a couple of years with Frameworks. I'm sure he knows his worth, and I doubt he's taking a huge pay cut just to stay on Frameworks. This isn't one of those sports where guys are signing "team-friendly" deals, so I'd assume they're getting some funds from other sponsors/sources.
