Not sure if they're even still a thing but Semenucks signature Etnies were pretty cool gripped like vans but had just slightly more support but not so much that they were like the super hard sole shoes for people like me that don't like that option.

For what it’s worth here’s a piece of advice that was pounded into my head when I ski raced. “Never hold a tuck at the cost of executing your turn” aka if you can’t efficiently turn while tucked, don’t tuck. It is a lot harder to actually hold a good turn tucked than you might think. Just cause these DH guys aren’t full aero stance from top to bottom doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying to optimize aero for the sections where they can be tucked.

If only Aero was that simple. Plenty of DH teams have tested in the past (most recently FMD and Canyon) but NONE have taken it further than that. There are just too many variables in DH. For example anything that helps with straight-line will have a massive negative when there is any kind of cross wind or need to turn.

Trek and QBP just had layoffs (again) today. This is the third time at Trek in the last 18 months and I believe at least the second time at QBP since COVID. I just exited the bike industry myself (started a new job this week!), it’s definitely rough out there!

I agree, it seems like the brand may have made it a priority to the team. Furthermore and this is getting in the weeds here for sure, but I wonder if Pivot envisions a scenario where they buy the race team out or have Maples buy the race team out and run it in the future? I'm sure he's getting...

This has been mentioned before, but seeing Brage on a Transition would be pretty iconic. They have a freeride bike and support other riders sending it. Part of me also wishes Kona comes out with a new Stinky paired with old graphics, and then unveils it with Brage doing some crazy shit as always. Whoever picks him up will have a bike that will be in the running for "video of the year" for the lifespan of the contract.

Hopefully, what’s upping the stoke in 2026 is just not overdoing it. With training for a 250 mile race (now complete) I honestly just rode way too much last year. Feel free to play the worlds tiniest violin if you must, but our smallish local trail network is best suited for up to 3 days of riding per week at most, not as much 6-7 days all summer. Varying my activity and having MTB be a treat instead of a daily “must do” will be good for me, I think.
