How many times in the last decade has a rider been up by 10 seconds? Like I said, riders are so close it's not really relevant.

I thought the Nicolai Nucleon 16 looked a bit "busy" with the idler and rear LAL derailleur, and maybe it's the angle/lighting, but this Slash with both pulleys, big chain slap guard, long rear fender, chunky seat tube, shock mount etc. brings me late 90's vibes too. It probably rides great, but with the swoopy tube junctions and straighter/angular rear end, the lines don't flow that well IMO and it looks a bit "unfinished" in the industrial design department. In front of a white background with studio lighting, it would probably look more finished. My 0.02$.

Imagine spending that much on a premium, carbon bike, only to have to resort to spray foam to keep the cables quiet.

I'll never forget his review of a "Status 160" that was actually a 140mm bike. He made all sorts of comments like how it felt harsh compared to other bikes with 160mm travel...

Maybe it's just the photo but it doesn't look symmetric top for bottom, i.e. you couldn't flip it around. Looks like a way to have a replaceable threaded insert that is shaped such so it doesn't rotate when tightened.

re: snow summit incident - please correct if wrong, but i recall it was the rider's insurance company forcing the lawsuit? i thought the rider didn't want the suit to happen, but insurance wouldn't provide $ for lifelong care if they didn't go after summit? also, really curious how the case was presented to the jury and if the sign post was in a reasonable location or not. regardless, bummer all around

Bruni and Finn both ran them at Lourdes and proved they’re worthy of World Cup podiums which is no small feat, fort bill is its own monster though and having a single race proven tire doesn’t mean it’ll work everywhere.

Because Dave Camp is a RockShox suspension engineer, and says not to. I'd trust him over some forum 'experts' any day.

Timed training is not mandatory, AFAIK. Some riders choose not to do a timed training run. In the past, Gwin was often one of those riders who did not complete a timed training run before qualifying (or started but pulled over mid-run). Doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Production bikes will likely have a fender, hence the mounting bracket on both sides. The idler also mounts lower to a recess on the inside of the drive side brace, not higher up.

That rocker link has to be the longest ever and I'm sure won't cause any flex/stress on shock or bolts. Plus it is pretty hideous.
