Pedantic critique: a measurement error from 25% sag to 29% sag is not 4%, it's 4 percentage points. The actual difference is 4/25=0.16, actually a 16% difference. Also I couldn't make it through this very long video and the product is wildly expensive for what it is.

Huh? You do realize that most of the top dudes in DH have parts on their bike that you can see (or internals you can’t) that aren’t available to everybody. In MX if you are on a stock motor you will not win a pro race period. In fact, the successful factory teams have different motors, not just maps, for high / low elevation tracks. to the more important point. I have a pretty dialed dh rig and im fast expert pace (sometimes slow pro pace). If I had loic’s buttons I would not be elite, I have too many...

I just don't think the data is there to conclude that lockouts helped on the motorway. Riders were tucking as much as pedaling, and heavier riders seemed to fair better. Its likely that speedsuit-gate had more of an impact. I would be open to the idea that a lockout allows you to optimize your suspension setup for the rough and chunk, and not trying to find a compromise between that and the motorway, hypothetically giving you a faster time in the middle (chunky) section.
