Easy in principle as you need some kind of motor/actuator pushing the interface of the post, some electronics to do the communication, a remote and some way for the two to communicate. What that means is you need to handle the mechanics of the actuator. A motor, some geartrain, something to press the thing in the post. You need a battery and some way to charge it. Some control electronics to talk to...

We used to normal bleed everything at rockshox in the shop. A wet bench/vice setup would be ideal. Somewhere you can spill a bunch of oil and not worry about it. This is what we had- Cookie pan under the vice and seal it up, get a drain fitting and hose and run that to a 5 gal bucket on the floor. You can then just build and dump oil out on the vice with no cleanup.

A Good set of digital calipers like Mitutoyo, Starrett etc. A 0"-1" micrometer is nice to have as well. A hand dyno is another piece that's usually needed just to check functionality. A compressed nitrogen tank with the appropriate regulator and valving is another piece to consider.

Totally looks like a rubber cover for a charge port. They could have machined a channel in the lower tube to run wires down to the actuator.

I think you'd have to sample the chain itself so like someone mentioned previously some sort of sensor that measures force at the chain. We have that on our Dyname motor with a Hall Effect sensor hidden and some programming in order to get a readout on the chain forces (for purposes below, while pedaling but it is also affected by PBK while descending).

Exactly. Neko's whole MO was "let's show the entire process of bike development" where Zink's was "announce I'm starting a frame company, and it's all secret and exclusive". Zink's methods aren't exactly bad, exclusivity and mystery can drive interest really well, but Neko's openness really resonated with the bike community.
