I think the 5 person podium, while getting two more rides some face time, also allows for the podium to have a bit more action. 5 people spraying champagne looks way more rad than 3. To me that alone should be a reason to keep it, better for the viewers.

My guess is it's related to tires. TFR is sponsored by Pirelli but it's pretty obvious they only have them on for photoshoots and run other tires sharpied out. Pictures from MSA showed Kade openly running Bontrager tires with no sharpie.

I think we can all agree that everyone raced the same course under the same conditions and the best rider for that run stood on the top step at the end of the day. If you look when he rides off after crashing in the finals at Snowshoe the light is still green. So I doubt its split timing. More likely green for open dampening???

The box is a gps to have live info for the top riders during finals. I Think it's how they show speed in real time.

Nope, there is dick all time between racers as it is, F1 need to conserve tires and fuel and change the balance of the car during the race, what is a DH rider going to conserve or adjust in there 3 min run? They are going as hard as they can anyway so what's knowing a split going to matter? Mic the riders up during practice if you want entertainment
