5/13/2024 9:45am It's patented by Dave... But the drag should be similar as with an ordinary idler. The benefit is the packaging as you wrap more of the chain around the chainrings so the retention should be better, the chainline at the top and the bottom is closer to what low pivot bikes have, thus chain length is not extreme, chain growth is more along the lines of what is known, etc.

5/11/2024 2:06pm That crown looks identical to the one on my Selva C, the text on the axle is definitely different, the casting looks slightly different, although it's hard to tell for sure with the livery on it. The main difference looks like along the supports that run down from the arch on the inside, they extend further down on the Selva. The preload adjusters and top caps look identical, although the damper obviously lacks the lockout and compression adjuster (or CTS, I can't tell which) Those stanchions don't look to be 38mm though, maybe 36 at best, but pictures can be...

5/11/2024 9:57am They are definitely running a different damper in the fork. This is from Ancillotti’s story. Looks like it could be the Nero damper (with the HSC dial taken off)?

5/10/2024 12:27pm Competitive Cyclist shared this electronic Transfer via email today (oops). I found this private page on Cambria's website via google. Maybe one of you nerds can figure out how to get better photos. idk.

5/7/2024 7:15pm With all this 6 bar nonsense, testing cromo chainstays, electronic compression, etc I want someone to (re)try the V2 Magic Link. V1 was a flexy prototype, V3 only used a single shock, so I think V2 was the sweet spot (its a shame I cracked two of them back in the day). Yes, it pedaled better, but thats not its most interesting characteristic. You would set up your suspension rather stiff, with the compression higher than normal, allowing it to be rather firm when pumping. When you hit rough stuff, the rearward forces on the frame increased the leverage ratio...

5/6/2024 7:13pm Hello! This is a custom version. It can be available in 3, 5 or 8 connector versions. The battery is smaller than the current V2 version, but charging time is faster. You can run 8/9 hours of sampling without issues.

5/6/2024 4:04pm On the Downtime post-race show they mentioned the KODS (Keep Our Device Secret) on Amaury's bike and were speculating that it was an electronically controlled position adjuster for the idler. Pretty wild if that's what it is...

5/6/2024 8:38am At what point does the cover on Loics bike violate the rule about fairings on bicycles? it’s quite a thought out aero design, I’m surprised nobody has challenged this

5/6/2024 8:37am May not be on the bonded frames for a bit. Neko said he wanted to test the new frames himself. I believe this is to relieve his riders of the stress of whether or not new types of frames will make it through a race weekend.

5/4/2024 5:06pm Anybody notice how short Reece Wilson's stem is this weekend? Looks like a 20mm stem or maybe shorter. I don't remember seeing anybody fast running a stem that short since Bulldog on the OG Mondraker/Cesar Rojo "Forward Geometry" program in 2012. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6cjj6KOMyU/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=e76…

5/4/2024 8:59am Really cool to see that he has 3 options, just wonder what changes those are doing. While on the Loic topic, I noticed he’s running split lower clamps like motocross bikes. Could be flex character he likes or just more even clamping for the stanchions the way the torque is distributed.

5/4/2024 8:58am I was watching Bruni's Gopro footage from Fort William practice, and something caught my eye. From the footage you can actually see when he switches between damping modes from the LEDs on his stem. It happens at least 3 times: 1) blue mode off the start till at least the wood section (I did not check if he switches anything in the upper section); 2) green mode in the wood section until the second turn/shark fin after the road gap; 3) back to blue mode for the new fast section; 4) red mode from the bridge before the motorway to...

5/3/2024 4:09pm Here's another thought on Amaury's steel oval-shaped chainstay. The obvious conclusion is that they're chasing a particular amount of flex that they couldn't get out of aluminum, but here's another idea: What if they already had the level of flex they wanted out of the old bike, but they were breaking aluminum chainstays left and right? It makes sense that the chainstay would be the weak point in a flexy rear end, because it's the direct line from the bottom bracket (aka where most of the rider's mass is transmitted to the rest of the chassis) to the rear axle...

5/3/2024 4:08pm I think it's a workaround for the relatively high levels of anti-squat on the new model. I was surprised to read the press release and how high the AS is on the new bike, but they also open their copy by talking about how their goal wasn't to make the fastest race bike, but something more versatile. I thought that was odd, but maybe YT made a conscious choice to subordinate their team riders desires for a more pedal-able, "poppy" bike for general population bike park use. YT riders have been using Ochain for a long time, and this idler...
