Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
it's also curious that they are not running it in the front, it looks like an assegai, weird combinations, i feel that front and tacky chan in the back would be great
any info on the bar/stem Greg is running?

big fan of that markings on the bar and stem, makes setup super easy. why doesn‘t everyone deliver something like this?
Expensive as frig! (has to be quite precise to be of any use...)
going back to helmet rumors, many Alpinestars riders in Fort William are wearing the helmet that looks like the MX one. I guess it is indeed the nex DH version. Also, Canyon Pirelli riders are using what looks like a new helmet from Dainese. Chinguard looks very similar to the old AGV MX helmet.
That new branding in hideous… The „old“ one looks way better on bikes IMHO
I was watching Bruni's Gopro footage from Fort William practice, and something caught my eye. From the footage you can actually see when he switches between damping modes from the LEDs on his stem. It happens at least 3 times: 1) blue mode off the start till at least the wood section (I did not check if he switches anything in the upper section); 2) green mode in the wood section until the second turn/shark fin after the road gap; 3) back to blue mode for the new fast section; 4) red mode from the bridge before the motorway to the finish. I think this proves that it's not just a "firm mode" switch. I guess the RS flight attendant does the same thing, but automatically. I wonder how different the damping can be between the modes.
First switch:
Just after the second switch:
Third switch:
Really cool to see that he has 3 options, just wonder what changes those are doing.
While on the Loic topic, I noticed he’s running split lower clamps like motocross bikes. Could be flex character he likes or just more even clamping for the stanchions the way the torque is distributed.
Did you see the button in the right side of the bar, assuming going to the fork?
I will never buy another set of deity bars because of this. So annoying.
Also shoutout to TAG metals for their all mountain stem having slots to mark your steer tube when you get that perfect alignment. Makes realigning so much faster.
so rad all the tech gizmos! (well i think so). in semi-finals today, troy, finn and loic top 3, all with electronics. separated by just .071 seconds. luca was 4th only .5 off first place. did he have flight attendant too?
Looks like he did... can clearly see it on the fork, assuming its on the shock as well.
Also, they're not running it fully automated. Looks like a Reverb AXS controller on the left which likely turns the extra compression on/off.
Colored LEDs on the fork to tell you what setting you're in.
what really surprises me as a mediocre at best rider is the fact that he's going with no finger on the brake at times
Anybody notice how short Reece Wilson's stem is this weekend? Looks like a 20mm stem or maybe shorter. I don't remember seeing anybody fast running a stem that short since Bulldog on the OG Mondraker/Cesar Rojo "Forward Geometry" program in 2012.

Boy's been riding the moto a bunch.
Rulezman developed a similar type of stem, the direct mount version is 18mm IIRC. I gather it's a similar idea to the Mondraker one from back in the day (I wouldn't know for certain). His theory is on the YT channel and PB, but I gather it has something to do with a longer bike, both reach and CS length, combined with moving the steering axis further inward.
Any ideas on the blackbox shifter ?
Probably just the custom thumb paddle.
Bruni using wheel weights. Wonder what that's offsetting? It must be something quite noticeable in the rim/tyre to need that level of 'solution'.
I would think just to balance it. My rear wheel with an insert has a fair imbalance. My front feels smooth, but notice that when in a stand it will have a certain (heavy) spot that will always spin to the bottom.
PB had all the juicy photos of Bruni's bike
. They were testing rotor covers. You can al so see the bike with the cover off. There is also a brace on the derailleur hanger, I am too out of the loop on transmission stuff to know if it a stock piece.
Looks like it is an electric motor that actuates the damping dials. There might also be something above the spring collar (preload adjuster?) but it's hard to see.
It's the future
Look on the table to the right. The extra shock has a… not a dial but something that does not look like that. In my opinion.
I think it is that kind of silver/black actuator like the one on his bike.
Quick question,
do you "know" they arent running it fully automated, or just making an assumption.
Could they be using the controller to toggle through different modes 'open, platform, locked"? or simply on/off with the thumb contoller, as they dont need a dropper?
Just making an assumption based on the AXS controller. If it was fully automated, I wouldn’t expect any lever or rider input.
I bet it’s on/off as you suggested.
Or it's an override. Fully automated but can bee override if wanted because the tech is in a development phase
I think that would require the pedal sensor which sits in the crank axle. Didn't see that in Troy's video but wasn't looking for it.
