The spool valve is affected by pressure (resulting from flow...) just like a cone valve as it's a capped off cylinder with ports in the cylindrical wall with a spring pushing on the capped surface. So when the oil pushes on the capped end surface, the spring gets compressed and moves the valve and thus opens the ports. The manner the cone valve achieves this is a bit different to what the spool valve does, but the end result is very similar. You can change the spring under the cone or the angle of the cone with a given spring...

rampage bikes from propain here https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/red-bull-rampage-bikes-cust… have we seen an inverted fork at rampage since early 2000s dorado or shiver or avalanche (wasn't lance canfield on an avalanche back in the day?)? stoked to see one (ok, two) again.

With all the tire debate going on, anyone noticed Bruni running Argotal's? Can't understand why as Specialized have a similar tire that is supposed to be real good.

On the topic of tires inserts and sidewalls. I just raced the Sunpeaks Enduro up here in Snow Mexico and I spent my practice day on Conti Enduro casings with inserts only to peal my front and rear tire off the rim in different situations and scrambled to throw conti DH casings on the bike the night before. I decide to go sans inserts to try and get as much out the tire and see how things felt. Honestly I won't be surprised if we start seeing racers not run inserts in full DH casings more and more if the...

Yea, I was speaking towards the casing/sidewall prototype. But I actually raced both of them, I swapped halfway through the day. The Mudslayer(not the actual name) was also super good.

My 2cents. I raced the 'prototype' tire in Chatel, after testing it at home, and was extremely happy with it. It shrugged off some gross impacts and felt good doing it. I'm running DT Swiss so that might help too.

Pretty sure this has been discussed somewhere and I seem to remember them being prototype TRP rotors? They're also testing some new levers at the moment which were in a Pit Bits from Andorra, so it would make sense that they were testing rotors too

Rear Triangle on Minnaar's bike sure does not look production. If it is that carbon work is really bad.

Naaah, too much in common with the Dorado. A dc-Mezzer will be a different enough fork compared to a Dorado - right-side-up vs USD, 15mm vs 20mm axle, fast axle vs bolt-on axle, rearward arch vs no arch, they can further differentiate them with keeping such a dc-Mezzer only up to 190mm compared to the Dorado’s 200mm. Smile My guess is it could be better suited this way for 29er wheels as well! Smile
