I didn't quote the original post as it's a few pages back but thanks to all at Vital involved in the Fox podcast interview. Really insightful. SX chat especially so!

+1 for that... Argotal is my favorite tire, but I'd run KRF if I rode more hardpack.

The dreadnought PB tested was 34 lbs I was really surprised to see it was that light. Their frames look stout as hell, made me wonder how much the new Druid weighs and couldn't see anything. Is it pretty much equal to the dreadnought? Seems like they are so similar it would be close.

I wasn’t really surprised. Look at how much carbon they shaved down on the V2 frame.

I hear it’s coming to the Super Deluxe coil as well…

Agree but REALLY want them to release the Trail casing in Soft. Apparently the SKUs have existed for months but there's no product...

The Enduro casings are really good but heavy for most trail duty (at least the kind I do).

Just thinking it would be really cool to see electronic data in world cup events. Showing in downhill how much energy the suspension takes on in certain sections of track to see how one rider is a graceful deer moving through the woods, while another is a rhino on cocaine and adrenaline. I have no idea if livevalve or flight attendant track this sort of thing. But Im sure its possible to be implemented. Even if a rider does not want to have suspension changing, they could just have the components that allow us to see the data.

Maxxis needs to edit their line - that’s 70 variations of just the DHR2!

Huh ?

Fox forks are actually pretty exemplary as far as backwards compatibility of dampers go.  I have a what is now a 3 generations old RC2 damper in a '23 36 chassis for example.

I liked those old RC2 dampers better than the recent stuff, and how the old 26" 36 forks didn't creak quite as often. Progress!

We're all (or maybe just a few of us weirdos) still waiting for 160-180 dual crowns that are similar weight, price, availability as the 38mm bruisers. Maybe the MRP Bartlett now that they have new dampers - let's see how those ride.

Sure seems like eMTB make a big enough market for trail dual crowns to be viable. Durable and stout for aggressive riders, "cool" looking for ebike full fat market just based on aesthetics.  Nose pivots are cool.

or maybe, just maybe those new 29er forks have to manage much higher speeds and much harsher impacts compared to those old 26er forks. Whistling

DC-forks look hideous on a non DH-bike IMO and the current enduro/freeride forks are more than capeable.

I don’t think the current crop of 5-inch-thick down tubes on e-Bikes make a dual crown ideal.

just make the crowns wider then? also, ideal for introducing a new front hub width standard.

Not an issue. I have a FF Turbo Kenevo w/Boxxer, the DT tapers as it approaches the HT.

I’d be super stoked to see it on a 27.5 tire for us mullet folks.

Sure - I hear absolutely everyone is now on a 25psi Hydrid Air Coil w/ 475 in/lb springs.  Oh, the data...

The entire Flight Attendant will be able to have components introduced into previous AXS and Eagle drivetrains, apparently also to include the AXS Reverb.

Lmao why would you need Flight Attendant for a dropper post? Can some people not press the button?

Disagree. If they can integrate some kind of dropper auto dropping when starting to go downhill I’ll take that.

Sram would disagree with you. To each their own, some people are pumped on it. Some hate it. Neither is right or wrong.

its cool to see the progression of innovation either way

I never found the dropper button on my handlebars too hard to push.

I think innovation is good but this is the wrong direction. Remember droppers just started to become good.

The internet continues to flourish...

AXS Reverb Dropper, plus a Quarq Power Meter all can and do influence Flight Attendant damping.  It now works off of 'smart' algorithm where AXS Gear Selections + Power Meter readings and at what height an AXS Reverb Dropper is from full extension have the suspension learn to adjust accordingly.

Rumor is this current OE to Specialized Epic only componentry group showed a WC XC data log having reduced damping-change at the controls from many to barely 10.

Yes - Tech has gone too far.

I agree but the whole point of flight attendant is to minimize thinking and just ride.
shimano is doing the same with the Yeti E-team with auto shifting. Innovation can go so many different ways that can benefit the sport and bring us better products whether we like the direction or not.

We are a weird bunch hey,

Innovation/tech is a good thing!  Up until its something "you" dont "need", then its something "you" think has gone too far....(Im not throwing shade directly at you @ethanrevitch, just using "you" as a general term

Counterpoint, why be bothered by it, let these companies innovate and build whatever they heck they want.  The market will decide if its a "good" idea or not.

I'm not to fussed with electronic shifting of suspension, but I see how it could be amazing.

What I would like to see is a dropper that drops automatically, so I dont have to weight it.  I want that tech to mature into something reliable.
