Every time you mention this random ass definition of what a chainstay length is, i can't help but think about how it doesn't make any sense unless you're talking only about single pivot bikes, and how everyone you talk to is going to misunderstand you anyway. The fun thing about language is that words mean what people understand them to mean, not what you want them to mean. I'll post the rest of my response to this in the chainstay thread.

At least the Shimano mechanism is consistent and reliable. I’ve generally had good luck with most OneUp products, but even after trying the fix kit they sent for these brand-new pedals, the unclipping mechanism still feels inconsistent. I also doubt the pedals are truly “out of stock.” My guess is they pulled them from shelves because of the known issues and are working on another update. They never should have released the pedals in their current state.

It’s almost like people prefer different things out of their brakes and that it would be beneficial to the company to provide as many different lever feels out of a brake as possible. What a novel concept! The fact that they can provide as many different options with the same general architecture is a sign of some pretty damn good engineering, and I want to highlight when things are done well in the bike industry. 36lbs for a medium alloy frame with a coil shock, heavy hubs, and DH tires is actually really good.

I think 32” wheels sound amazing for the rough, washboard, rutted Colorado dirt roads. I don’t race and don’t care for sprinting. But some big ol wheels that roll and roll… I like it. Tall comfy front end sounds good too. Not everything needs to be race-ready

Still not up on YouTube, guess they won’t show it. What has me worried is that the Elite finals are not listed on the MAX app anymore, only have start times for juniors. What? Fans pay for the service and then it isn’t covered? I’m in the US if that matters. Check for upcoming live broadcasts, see if it is listed for you. That would be a bummer to not watch it after the letdown of not seeing Q2… Edit-I see I’m not the only one who doesn’t see the Elite finals start times on MAX…..hmmmmm

I just want to say, I have never been able "whip around" my bike better than when I put on the longer 460 chainstays. Turns out, when you increase front end grip, you can then drift the rear end in an extremely controlled fashion. My bike turns tighter than it did before, and I think it all has to do with front end confidence. I know I can turn a tighter radius because the front end is not going to wash. I often feel like the people who cannot fathom riding longer chainstays are the same ones who bemoaned the...

We didn't sell the Minion SS in large quantities, unfortunately. More than anything it became an option for our athletes to use in highly specific disciplines (slalom) or conditions. I saw plenty of comments along the lines of "why would I buy a pre-worn out tire?" The sizing was also a little funky on that tread since it came out just before rims went super wide. The 2.30" had a good profile but obviously low volume, while the 2.50" was too squared off and more voluminous than most riders needed. I could see a place for a refreshed 2.40" version...

The "booster" looks like what you would see in a moto spring perch. Which typically controls the low bath fluid flow. I would be super interested in how it works on an MTB fork. I am surprised that something like this hasnt come sooner but there isn't much volume to play with on here. We had a request for clarification pop up on the post, here's the answer from Öhlins with some more details around the changes being discussed in the press release above: The new surface treatment has reduced friction, and the compression damping base tune has been backed off a little. As a result, the fork feels softer. To compensate, the spring curve has been made a little bit more progressive, through the addition of spacers in the ramp-up chamber (yes, it's still the same, 3-chambner design). Question... with all of this weight being added to DH bikes... is there a market for an ISCG mounted chain guide product that has modular weights/ballast to add? Hrm... all of this has me thinking about using the in frame storage on my nomad to have a sock full of lead weight, wrapped in neoprene to slip in there for bike park days. Bonus points for being able to carry what equates to a blackjack with me to fend off bike theives.
