TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic New Intense Tazer - Forum Hot Seat with Intense Cycles

Hey John, TEAM ROBOT here. I'm curious about the new Tazer having the option for 29" or 27.5" wheels, and I'm especially curious to ask you because you've been so involved with the DH team as a mechanic and manager. And I'm asking this question as a tall person who has loved 29" rear wheels. I was surprised to see the new Tazer with the option for either rear wheel size, because ebikes are often turning into winch and plummet-only bikes, and for pure descending performance, companies and teams seem to be gravitating towards MX wheels. For instance, the Intense...

I'll ask the obvious question; did Intense consider going Avinox on this project? What ultimately lead to Bosch for this bike? What are Intense's thoughts regarding the "power wars" that seem to be taking place all of a sudden due to the Avinox/DJI drive system? ...oh, and how do I get one to test? Wink The bike looks absolutely phenomenal.

Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...

I got a raaw shipped this month. I think it was $280 and then fedex wanted $400 for tariffs. I haven't paid the tariff yet... Not sure how to approach it with how everything is going. A friend of mine in town got a raaw with a shock, I had one for my bike already. Plus he got an extra set of dropouts and I think his was a cheaper tariff than mine. He hasn't paid either but I feel like the customs people are just guessing what it should be and making up random numbers. I got a syringe...

This was so good... I can listen to JRich all day.. Obviously very smart, well spoken, and his story telling ability is amongst the best. Thankfully, he said he's not going to read the comments... The part about the ants really hit home for me. I remember being at Nellis around 07, I had an awesome weekend. Wasn't outside top 3 all weekend, a couple of wins.. I was stoked, but I couldn't get too excited because I knew I wasn't going up against the heavy hitters that were NBL east coast guys.. @Jason_Schroeder your mountain biking reminds me of...

I ran the HR3 up front for most of last year and the TC is really, really similar in terms of tread. I think the TC rolls faster, but that could just be the difference in compound. The radial casing, though, is a thing. Where the HR3 always felt a little sketchy for me on rocks, the TC just goes straight.

Ok, just did a ride on the new Tacky Chan Trail Pro Softs. I used the Wolf Tooth pressure calculator as an initial start, which rounded to 29 PSI rear, 26 PSI front. (For reference, I’m 220lb with kit and have been running 24/22 PSI on Maxxis EXO+ tires this season.) Started the ride with a half hour of climbing and the tires felt fine. Good traction, efficient feel, no complaints. Did the first bracketing run and while I didn’t notice any squirming on hard corners, I also didn’t notice anything notable about the traction, either. It felt like a...

I get the sentiment of what you're saying... but I would contend that the avinox motors have throttles... you just operate them by moving your feet. 460w of output with 25w of input, 800w of output with 100w of input and max power being delivered at 160w of rider input, is not pedal assist. It is pedal driven throttle assist.

Most of you probably won't like hearing this. I certainly didn't. Earlier this week I had a chat with a guy who works in a product management role for Ralf Bohle GmbH, which is the owner of the Schwalbe tire brand. Mainly I asked a bunch of XC racing related questions, about compounds, casings, radial ply, rolling resistance testing, wheter we'll ever see the speediest XC casing with a black sidewall and why they felt they needed to change their naming scheme for casings and compounds. The gist of it is that they are hard at work behind the scenes...
