What do people like for sizing on a fun park/DH bike like the new Norco Torrent or Transition TR11 compared to trail/enduro bikes? I haven't owned a bike with a dual crown in quite a few years. My sweet spot for a 160/170 bike is 500 reach and 64 head angle. Downsize the DH bike a little on reach or keep it the same as the pedal bike? Whistler laps, shuttling certain steep loamy spots, plenty of tech but still fun on Aline, no racing.

The serial number on the pic can be read as "1270890-0002-T" which translates to Description: Bomber Z2, 29in, Marzocchi, 130, RAIL 2.0, Sweep-Adj, Shiny Blk, Neutral/Gloss Blk Logo, 15QRx110, 1.5 T, 58HT, 44mm Rake, YG, AM I suppose the lowers might be from something else.

Transition has the dank taco truck thing going on Everyone in Bellingham works for transition or evil or Kona Santa Cruz marketing was absolutely tempting transition to post that photo on purpose Becasue the embargo was like a week away and the bike was ready to ship We got them all looking for ways to sneak the obvious and make it look sneaky or obvious Nobody got fired and many Tallboys have been sold Smugglers still heavier and spur geo Is conservative compared to tb Tacos. It’s all about tacos.

Fresh pod with Ethan Eggert from Arid Cycles! It was really cool chatting this morning and hearing about how Ethan had basically no background in mountain bike development/manufacturing but just stuck with his goal/vision for the last few years and has put together a seriously compelling and unique bike. It's a good listen, enjoy! Arid is currently producing its first batch of 50 frames with delivery slated for this Fall. Some interesting thoughts from the guys at Spot about chainstay length in a podcast about their new bike on the Bikes & Big Ideas podcast with Simon Stewart. https://blisterreview.com/podcasts/spots-ryan-palmer-on-their-new-light… Geometry talk starts around 29 minutes in but the whole podcast is a great listen! Side note: I really dig both Simon's episodes and David Golay's episodes of the Bikes & Big Ideas podcast. I know the pacing of the speech in the David-hosted episodes is challenging for some folks but if you can hang with those episodes there's a ton of cool info and cool people to learn from/about!

A bunch of comparisons mainly looking at wheel force because that's what you really feel not the leverage curve. 160 mm bikes with different progression amounts normalized for identical sag at the wheel. Including -4%. The wheel force plot is purely looking at wheel force due to the spring. As you can see, there is a very significant difference at bottom of travel. If you were to zoom in on the sag point, you can easily see that a more progressive bike has a lower force at all points before the sag point and a higher force at all points...

Well... I guess when it comes to racing this question is one that has probably been left unanswered for way too long. Amazing that interviewers have held this until now, but it seems some racers were relieved to get to talk to someone about it.

My experience with the South Korea World Cup. I thought driving was easy, especially with the blue and pink lines on the road at interchanges and the Naver nav app worked well. The food was pretty good and had one Korean BBQ that was outstanding. Definitely get a bed in your room which I did and heard from others that didn't that is was not good. Did see the ominous black trashcan in the restrooms which by the clogged nature of the toilet (not plural) at the finish line, no one else did. No other restrooms at the finish line...

Escape collective has just released the first (of several) follow up podcasts on the state of the industry. I've only just started the first but if it's like the previous set they'll be worth a listen.

It looks even better in person! Never ridden a Spot myself but I like what they’re doing. A buddy of mine is a big fan, he’s got the Mayhem, their hardtail, and gravel bike.

Here is some non radial tire talk - I’ve been running the Michelin Wild Enduro MS Racing Line front and rear for a season and a half now. In general I’d say it’s been the best set and forget tire I have used. Similar loose condition performance to other all-rounders like the Magic Mary or High Roller, but holds up better on hard pack. I really like the casing too - supportive without being harsh, not too heavy, and haven’t had any flats (yet). Thinking I’ll try the new Performance Line option as a rear tire to get more life...
