I'm no engineer, but that top shock mount on the rocker link looks like it will see a ton of rotation. I wonder if they have needle bearings or something to help with friction during rotation. I've run RWC needle bearings on a few bikes and in my experience, there is a tangible benefit.

dak already rode a HP-bike with the devinci wilson proto that was never released. first people were complaining that only AG got tge new bike, now it seems the other team riders also got on the new ride and people are still complaining. did anyone complain when not every commencal rider was on the new proto? don‘t think so!!

I'm not at all an e-bike advocate but looking at what they did doesn't really bother me. It's basically a sentinel with a motor. I could be wrong but I'm assuming that there wasn't a huge amount of cost involved in the design. It seems like all these manufacturers are hopping on the ebb boat because it makes them a shit load of money. If they are able to make some cash off this thing and dump it into still making sweet bikes, and paying cool riders, and making cool videos, then it seems like some pretty sound logic.

Man, How cool would it be to see Intense just come out with a line of high quality aluminum, Horst Pivot, made in Cali bikes? Bring them back to their roots. Ditch the carbon, get back to what made them great back in the day

Well if testing other companies bikes has brought them in another direction then maybe there where issues. I assume they would be using timed runs for testing purposes.

Theoretically you can, in practice you are still within certain boundaries. The angles of rotation of VPP links are different (greater) than the angles of rotation of a horst-link (the rocker coming close though), thus the leverage ratio curves and axle paths tend to be different in the end.

The irony is, if you know what you are doing, you can make a Dual Link/VPP design do whatever you want it to do, so the fact that INTENSE has abandoned their VPP design ethos to achieve what gwin is looking for... you can draw your own conclusions. In fairness, they did do various other designs before VPP came along.

I think the Sniper's really appealing as an XC bike... especially when compared to almost every other brand offering what's essentially a single pivot bike in the XC space. From a suspension design standpoint, only the Ibis Exie and Revel Ranger compare (the latter being too heavy to really be included). Oh, and the Stoll M2 🤤

Intense also has a new Enduro bike dropping soon that looks very similar to the DH bike Gwin rocked last year.

That's maybe a bit extreme, but it does seem to me like they've lost a lot of credit in the actual bike market (not including racing). I would not consider any of their current bikes were I in the market.

Well now that is just a stunner... Dear Intense, please bring back aluminum. Be the Renaissance Alu company making awesome metal frames again.
